Trine 1 also had multiplayer haha.
I also didn't know till I randomly found out with a friend.

I played through it with 2 other friends and it was hella fun with the 3 of us, great co-op game. Just plug in 3 Xbox 360 pads into your PC and it will automatically recognize them. You have to assign each pad in the options though.

But 1 had only local coop, 2 finally has online coop!

True, but multiplayer nonetheless, and it was fun.
Cool that it's online now though.

Aw you got my hopes up. By "arrived" I thought you meant "released."

Still, it's nice to see it for prepurchase :)

The game is gonna be cheaper than the first game when it was released? This is madness :D

They've admitted they overpriced (out of their control apparently) Trine 1.

No three-pack? I thought that was pretty much a given.

EDIT oops spoke too soon, Devs on the trine board have confirmed a pack deal in the works and the ability to upgrade current preorders to a pack

That was when the game was like (at least in europe) 30 instead of 20.

How Important is it to play this coop? I'd rather play solo.

I would say not at all. It has good singleplayer campaign. Even beta is singleplayer. Even when I was afraid it's MP only.

Trine works perfectly fine in solo mode and actually I would recommend to play it solo the very first time as the game is about beautiful looking graphics and nice story-telling.

So, playing the game in coop first might (might!) ruin your experience with the game when you play it with some mad nut jobs who tend to rush through the levels or generally screw things up. On the other hand, I'm sure this game is awesome fun when you play it with some proper friends who share your enthusiasm for the game.

Lol, i payed 30€ for the first one. I regretted the decision. When they announced trine 2 I said I will wait until it will be 5 bucks. But at a starting point like this (13 eur). hm....... might get it sooner :)

Still haven't finished the first one, so I won't be getting this until it's heavily discounted (which, if the first is anything to go by, will happen many times...).

I paid 2 euro for the first one when it was on sale and I was having so much fun with it that I feel like I robbed the devs. So I decided to pre-order the 2nd one with the starting price so low. 15 euros total for the two Trine games seems like a good deal :)

So can you just play through the game with 1 character then like in the first game?

Don't give a fudge about co op, just want to drop some boxes on some skeletons.:p

exactly like the first one. You can go SP through levels. Or split them for more players. The only change is, you can have online MP now.

Hi guys,

Joel from Frozenbyte here. Glad to hear you guys are happy about the pre-purchase and seem to be enjoying the game. :)

Regarding the price and promotions, I was a bit on the fence about whether or not I should post this, but I figured it might be useful information... So basically, Trine 2 is indeed very inexpensive at launch/now. This is related to the fact that we wanted to have all the platforms at the same price (e.g. XBLA, PSN, PC, Mac, so on), for once. However, this also means that we will not do any promotions until 6 months after the release date. We always have crazy ideas and we are working with flexible (good) partners, so who knows what happens in reality, but it's clear that for the first 6-12 months our sales will be quite restricted.

And I think that's a good thing, and rewards our fans and those who support us early on. We admittedly have had a lot of sales on the original Trine, but I think it followed a logical "curve" (so no surprise -75% off a couple of months after launch, and although we probably didn't wait as long as some other games, we certainly were not the worst offenders either). The game is now over 2 years old (amazing how fast time flies) so the big discounts are not that surprising in my opinion. And we also want to "support" our XBLA and PSN fans, so I think this is fair to everybody.

We are also big supporters of the Humble Bundle and I have no doubt that Trine 2 will eventually end up in a bundle, but that will take a long time most likely, as explained above.

On a different note, we will be lowering Trine 1 price to $9.99 (I think) soon. Probably time finally. :)

I hope this helps. Thanks for supporting us. :)

Best,
Joel
