3 times after start multiplayer game freeze but now its ok. maybe too many players try it. game is awesome. 5 missions and it is something as action movie. you play play play ... nice jumps, demolitions, buildings...

Yeah I'm liking it alot too. But 4 player coop didn't work the first time. 2 plyr did.

This game is great so far! I'm playing on "Normal" mode and it's still challenging - quite different since "normal" means "easy" in most games these days...

This game has a nice retro console game feeling yet the graphic is superb.
I initially launched the game and played for 5min with keyboard then I quit and got my PS3 controller via motioninjoy (Xbox controller emulation) and now it's like a completely different game.

You also have other cars you can try (for the replay value) and the chopper mission as well. Overall I like as it's been a while since I've played this type of race action shooter.

Great game guys.. Just played through the first mission single player and the second mission 2 player co-op.. Both a lot of fun, except the guy that I got joined up with wasn't really a team player.. Just zoomed ahead and did his own thing..

Playing with a rumblepad2 and it's buttery smooth .. really fun

works fine for me, really enjoyed the first hour of gameplay.
read forum and set controls to TANK. and its mouse and keyboard friendly.
definitely has an oldschool feeling with newschoolish graphics.

kind of glad i bought it actually, but freaking sucks it came out late.
i wanted this to be a game to play while waiting for battlefield 3.
now i end up playing it while waiting for friends to log onto bf3.
*shrug* i dunno, it's cool overall so far. good arcade shooting.

Mouse + keyboard didn't feel bad to me, though I didn't try with gamepad yet. My gamepad isn't very good in most games, because the main digital directional control has a very large dead zone, which obviously sucks for a wide variety of reasons. But I suppose for RO it shouldn't matter, you need to move full speed all the time anyway :p But I think I can still aim better with the mouse than with the pad.

I've only been able to play about 15 minutes so far 'cause it keeps freezing on me but I have to say what little I got to play was FREAKING AMAZING! Love the controls, the heavy, nonstop action and the feel of Jackal crossed with Ivan Stewart's Offroad Racing crossed with EA's old Strike series. You really couldn't ask for a better arcade style game. If this had been an arcade cabinet back in the day, I would have fed thousands of quarters into it!

Yeah I didn't like at first but once TANK is enabled it's better with the keyboard because aiming with the mouse is way better.

I admit though, better going back to the pad when you enter a chopper.

Have to agree with OP, this is a very awesome game. I find the PC controls in tank mode are better than the 360 Controller, it may be easier to drive with the game pad but targeting is far superior with a mouse, so it's a choice between easier driving or easier killing.

Btw I played with tank mode, then I disabled it, now I can't decide what's better :D Tank mode is better for roaming, the default mode is better in fights for me...

No, no. Some games are just optimal with a controller. Sorry but keyboard mouse is not the best way to play every game created, and expecting such is pretty dumb.

I'd say with games like bastion, assassins creed, and more, you just need an Xbox controller. Has nothing to do with lazy programmers. Their games were just designed for the controller.

I agree with most of your post whole heartedly, so I'm guessing I just didn't explain my point very well.

I'll be the first to admit that games like driving games and sports games are often better with a gamepad on PC. However Renegade Ops is a perfect example of a game that doesn't have to be that way. There are many many posts in this forum where gamers are saying they prefer kb/m for this game because aiming with the mouse is so much faster and more accurate. It comes down to personal preference and I won't belittle anyone for using whichever method they prefer.

There are several things that make PC gaming great. The accuracy of a mouse is one, and the ability to customize your controls to fit your playstyle is another. All I'm trying to say is that as more and more games are developed primarly for consoles and then ported to PC I feel like we're loosing some of the customisation that has been such a strong point for our platform.

You want to play RO with an xbox contorller? Awesome. I prefer kb/m and I'm a lefty, so wasd isn't ideal for me. I just wish I had the choice without having to resort to thrid party software to trick the game into thinking I'm pushing the keys it wants me to.

I agree, this games is awesome but it take less than 3 hours to finish the campaign in normal mode... 3 hours ?!? it's the shortest campaign i've ever played. And what else can you do ? nothing ... you only got campaign alone or with others players... Of course you can still upgrade all yours characters to max level or unlock all trophies but you'll still do this very short campaign :(
There is no arena,survival,challenge mode or anything else and doing the same thing over and over is boring (even if you take another character).

So yes it's a goog game but way to short :(

PS: Why the hell should I need two controllers to play with a friend ?

Play with friends. Max out all characters. I feel if this game was 12 hours Lon it would get boring.

Again this is def. a throwback title to the NES/SNES days when games were this short.
