Does anyone know what resolution to run this game please?
I have the 'preparing to launch game window', that get an 'out of range' message from the monitor. It's a 22" widescreen, Nvidia 8600 graphics and o/s Vista 32. Thanks for any help

1024x768, you can change the res in the gameengine.ini file which is in your steam\steamapps\common\dead mountaineer's hotel directory. You will likely need to do this as it seems your monitor does not support that res.

Look at the date of release and be ready for game, that must be selled over GOG shop. Too old and nothing exceptional in it. At a release day here in Russia it was very buggy.

I have tried the method which is editing the gameengine.ini but this does not help.I notice that the screen resolution and the refresh rate is changed but the game screen ratio is still 4:3.People in the game still look short and fat.

Found the readme file in folder
.../steamapps/common/dead mountaineer's hotel/

Hot keys:

[Esc] – Exit to the game menu
[M] – Map of the hotel
[I] – Inventory
[P] – Pause
[Space] – Skip a dialogue
[F9] – Make a screenshot
[F10] – Exit to desktop
[Ctrl+Enter] – Full-screen mode

While the game is running, hitting [Ctrl+Enter] toggles between fullscreen and windowed mode. Windowed mode appears to be 4:3, although I couldn't figure out how to move the window, and it automatically places itself on the left side of the screen.
