Psh, my kids aren't getting any of my recent games anyway. As soon as they turn 3, it's Lemmings and Tetris and we'll work our way up year by year until they can afford their own game licenses.

I'm 25.. When I have kids, they will not be playing any of these stupid games that are out now..

They will be playing Atari and Nes games..... And when they get older, I will introduce Snes and Genesis..... And when they turn about 12 they will finally get to behold the power that is ...

3d gaming!!!! .. by getting to play Super Mario 64!!!!

it will be amazing.

Also they will not have tv... They will only get to watch TV shows I have downloaded for them like Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin, Who's the Boss. Bewitched. I dream of Jeanie, ♥♥♥♥ Van ♥♥♥♥, Bob Newheart, Taxi, Pokemon, original Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rugrats, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Salute Your Shorts, and the long list of other shows I am downloading to prepare for my child.

Also, they will only watch commercials from the 80's- early 90's. I'm downloading them also.

Kinda sounds like my plan.

At first, I was like, "You've gotta be kidding..."

Then I thought about what we have on TOday's TV... (Today's TV and media might actually make them more stupid...) And I realized it's not that bad of an idea...

Thanks OP for making me feel old... My parent's didn't give me that, when they were kids, video games weren't even invented yet. MY kids aren't inheriting the atari and NES because those are MINE. LOL

So um, is it that hard to let your kid use your pc for an hour?

How old are you exactly, since video games have exisited since the 70's. And a normal thing in the 80's.

Ah, I thought you said, when YOU were a kid, not your parents.

and on topic: I can give my children herpes.... and fines and if they are naughty, I can give them a day in the detention.

28.

My Grandpa had the old Atari you had to hook up to the tv, used those huge cartridges and looked like a giant keyboard. Now THAT I wish I had inherited. (No, someone probably auctioned that off, or just threw it in a box never to appreciate it for the awesomeness it was.) He was a computer geek and is probably where I get that from.

Because I find it hard to believe that Valve can even find out that it's my son and not me using my account, let alone go after me for that. I haven't heard of them enforcing this rule outside of cases of account selling.

I'm not having kids. Besides, let's face it: with all the games I have to play through, I'm more of a kid than they would be. :p

Why would I give my games to my kids? Why would I even have kids? Both of those things give me less time to play games. OP your dum.

A programming environment where you got to write your own game. Meh that probably won't be possible with all that marketing-through-the-kid ♥♥♥♥ going on nowadays :(

A microwave, so they can make their own dinner while I play my games.

Passing on PC games is always going to be a problem anyway, due to compatibility issues.

Why microwave when you can FlavorWave (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co42QnoZCas)! I must say that it's one of the best purchases of my life. None of this have to clean the oven BS. Just set it to cook and you're off the hook! :D

I don't really want to have kids, but if I change my mind and adopt/foster one, they can pick out their own gaming stuff. For all the important things I'd like to impart on a kid, my taste in hobbies isn't really high up there. They need to develop their own interests.

If anything, I'd rather nudge them into reading.

I was the same way, I was a book fiend, but I still played mario in my spare time and other things.

But yeah, I'd probably be like, "you *have* to try this one..." LOL

And ratings? Blech, I was watching rated R movies when I was 6. ROFL

All my account names and PW's are in my little book safe so when I croak my kids can do what they want with them. I'll be beyond caring.

Actually, you can put your Steam account in a will. I've asked about it before and they said there would be no problem.

It was in a thread years ago before I was banned and made this account. Someone from Valve answered, I know that. You could probably email them and ask though.

I think the next generation is going to be too disgusted with their parents to want to have anything to do with them. That's my current working theory.

Passing on PC games is always going to be a problem anyway, due to compatibility issues. This is a good point at some time, MS will drop all legacy support including 32bit. It's this backwards compatibly that holds things back. When that time comes, how will you play your old games without an old PC. Will Steam offer a Streaming service for legacy PC games? Will others? The last time I checked the community dosbox type program being made to emulate WinXP wasn't getting any closer to completion. I'd much rather see a console type rig you bought to play DOS/Windows games once the train moves on to pure 64bit.

Like they're going to want to play those games anyway when they have Call of Derpy 15.
