Does the PC version of the game have support for a 360 controller? My PC will run it just fine, but this is a game I want to play with a gamepad.

No speculation please, since the game comes out today just post if you have gotten the actual answer. Once I get a definitive answer I'll edit this post so people don't have to go searching for the answer. Also I'm assuming that there's not going to be any game-breaking qualities in the PC port, but if there are, I'd like to know about them as well. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Everything works as intended, thanks again to everyone willing to be a guinea hedgehog!

Do you see the X for Boost in the screenshots? Then yes, it does have controller support.

Yessir. The right pane on the store page says, "Controller Support" so you're good.
Thanks god....
I've tried playing Sonic Adventure on keyboard before.... less than ideal. This game probably wouldn't fare much better with that setup.

3d sonic on a keyboard = Nope.
The 2d could work. But yeah.

It's confirmed to have pad support, but xbox360 pad support in new, big name multiplatform titles is pretty much a given. Pretty much guaranteed if one platform its on is the 360.

The thing is that it will probably work for xbox controllers only.
People with Dinput controllers will have to use joy to key or something like that.

That will very likely be the case. Once they've got Xinput in, very few developers seem to bother about Dinput anymore.
Sure, Xinput is more uniform in the controller layouts and how they work. But it'd be nice if they went that little extra mile for the people buying their games :v

DInput controllers will work fine with the xbox 360 controller emulator.

It works with every other XInput exclusive game out there.

I love my 360 controllers. Having a "standard" controller is one of the best things to happen to PC gaming in recent years. It makes adding support much easier for devs. And notice how suddenly we're getting lots of support for local multiplayer and split-screen? Can't play 4 player using kb/mouse! Plus, they have analog triggers, which few PC controllers had in the past.

Can't think of a recent game that doesn't have 360 controller support. Especially if it's an Xbox port :P

AgainstYT: That's because Microsoft requires console ports to be XI nowadays. I believe DI is still optional, though.

DJ Cryotek: 4 player local co-op is good. 8 is better. Guess which API has a 4 controller limit? You also can no longer play two player splitscreen using kb/m and controller (if Renegade Ops is a good example). Also, Microsoft did not invent analog triggers; in fact, XI only supports 4 axes compared to DI's 8.

edit: As far as the topic goes, I'm waiting anxiously for release so that I can get word as to whether the game is playable or has game breaking bugs. If initial looks are good, I'm going to buy and download it tonight and most likely start playing tomorrow.

Not to be argumentative, but I did ask for someone to confirm the controller support once they've actually played it. I expect it to work fine, but of course if every game met expectations then there wouldn't be any bad games. That said, I'm really excited to play! Someone please confirm that the 360 controller works...

Another 360 controller confirmation (wireless with receiver). Surprised me that you can auto spindash with the x button after playing the genesis games again (original on original hardware).
