No UI elements and more

I'm not getting any UI elements or cutscenes and so forth. The "Sega" logo at the start shows nothing, first thing I see is the title screen without any "press start" message or other options, and mashing the start button pushes me into the first level where I don't have a HUD to show my rings, time, lives, and so forth.

Testing every variant of shadows, AA, reflections, and refresh rate has yielded no results either.

Anyone else experiencing this?

PC Specs:
i7 920 @ 3.9ghz
Radeon HD5870 x2
6GB DDR3

Did you try verifying the integrity of the game files?

Not exactly. I got:

Title Screen/Press Start
-presses start-
Freezes on autosave message
-restart-
Title Screen/Press Start
-presses start-
New Game/Continue/Options/Exit Game
--can scroll, but can't confirm anything-

About to give it a third go.

EDIT: Not sure what happened the first time, but the second was a derp on my part. Controller wasn't configured properly.

Ah damn, I'm a dumbass. Go figure the one thing I ALWAYS check, I didn't check this time... I had AA set in CCC to 8x and that completely killed it.

Well if anyone else encounters this problem, there's your solution.

I can't even get the game to start, I just get a black screen upon start up, I've even put the setting to as low as it can and I never had AA set. Anyone have any suggestions?

Uh... try seeing if your video card is running any sort of "Force _____" option. I think I heard that you can get this type of issue when your video card attempts to force settings otherwise not supported by the game.
