Dont be scared, it runs at a full 60fps and looks amazing
No input lag like on consoles, and no slowdowns here.

Damn, that looks like a Pixar movie!
Too bad the UI looks blurry, probably because it wasn't mean tto suppourt these kinds of resoloutions.

The best part (other than the fact the game moves so fluidly and makes the PS3 version look like a war movie slideshow) is virtually no loading times in comparison. GOOD LORD.

Yeah this might be the first port I've seen that is better than the console version, lol.

Well there's Deus Ex HR. But anyways, there's no 30fps cap, resolutions higher than 720p, and $20 cheeper. If you have a computer that can run it, literally no reason to get it on a console.

Even the very worst/laziest ports are better than the console versions IMO simply because you can (a) run them at a higher resolution; (b) usually run them at 60 fps (or higher if you have the appropriate display); and (c) not have to put up with a single torn frame if you prefer simply by enabling v-sync (and triple buffering). Oh and loading times are quicker as well.
I only buy exclusives for the consoles and buy all my multiformat games (where available) on the PC for that reason otherwise I opt for the Xbox 360 version (e.g. Red Dead Redemption).

Bad ports don't give you that liberty.
Heck, SADX 2010 didn't even allow you to do widescreen, something that a little tweaking in Dolphin allowed you to do running the Gamecube version of the game.
And no amount of horsepower nor high resolution will let you run/play the game better than a console if optimization is poor. See: Black Ops, GTA4 (lol)
edit: Okay, Black Ops is a bad example since I'd rather stick my pee pee in acid than play an FPS with a gamepad.

Apart from the bad slowdown on the Chemical Plant levels, this is a pretty slick multiformat game on the PC, looks gorgeous and runs silky-smooth at 60 fps (well, most of the time). Hopefully, the stuttering/slowdown issues can be fixed in a patch but knowing SEGA they probably won't bother as they never bothered to address the corrupt save game glitch in Virtua Tennis 4 for example. :(

But GTA IV *does* look *and* run better than it does on either the 360 or PS3 as I've played all three versions. GTA IV runs at 40-60 fps for me on maxed out settings and that's with the InjectFXAA hack to which adds anti-aliasing! Also, Black Ops runs and looks better than it does on the 360 even with all the bugs.
You're one of the lucky few. GTA4 was nowhere near playable for me.
Black Ops was awful for the first month or so after release, but that seems to be the standard for FPS around launch date - RAGE was hilariously bad on ATI cards till a week later. Thank God BF3 broke that trend.

Well, I for one am very impressed!
My fiancee was very excited about this game, so we tried both versions of the 360 demo. It jerked. Badly. Very badly. Surely the one thing a Sonic game needs to be is smooth?
Kept praying for a PC version, figuring it can't actually be worse (despite people moaning about "console ports" the ability to run games at 1080p/60fps in most instances makes it literally 4x better than the console versions).
It looks amazing, and runs perfectly. I haven't got a 3d Vision "proper" setup at the moment but I am using 3D Vision Play on a projector and I can't stress enough how amazing this looks in 3D even without a profile or any setup at all. Literally just activated 3d through the Nvidia keyboard shortcut, upped the depth a fraction and it's mindblowing.
So you can't lose really. It's cheaper than the console version, looks much better, runs much better and has better 3d options for those suitablity.
As for the limited reports of slowdowns, it appears they are present on console versions too (to a worse degree) and it's worth bearing in mind the title has been out for less than 12 hours and there are no ATI or Nvidia profiles or user tweaks. I think I noticed a hitch here or there (that I'd put down to use of SLI without a profile) but nothing severe.
So, yea, very impressed! Between this and FIFA12 I'd say that we're back towards being the best gaming platform bar none. Now just bring me Ms Splosion Man, which looked amazing, but also jerked like sh** on the 360!
