Those are some pretty awesome fixes, right there. Does anyone know if, historically, reviewers were willing to do double takes? This adds ten points, if not more, to that metacritic score.

Castle walls and building are meant to provide protection. Except for missiles from siege engines (i.e. catapults), there is NO hit detection for walls or buildings in this game. This means that anti-personnel missiles such as arrows and spears GO THROUGH WALLS AND BUILDINGS. The mind absolutely BOGGLES that this could be overlooked in a castle warfare sim. Until this issue is resolved, this game is hopelessly broken no matter what else they fix.

I suppose that's a reasonable position. Still, it's progress. Here's to hoping they get around to it.

Generally, no. And most often a different version is sent to reviewers to review before or near release of the game. So if PC Gamer got the same version that we did for SH3 then the reviews will be dismal.

Same with Sword of the Stars 2. What a crappy release.

I hope they also plan to fix my troops so they can run to save my villagers. I still cannot stand watching my swordsman casually stroll to battle.

I'm pretty happy for "Extra Large Maps", which will be like a normal map for me. One thing that I really hated in stronghold 2 was that the maps were too small, especially that UK map where some territories can only build two buildings.
