Hello,

I'm running an M14x, and I'm having the same issue as all of you.
What I did was attach it to a TV through HDMI and run the game that way. When you extend your desktop, the game will be able to detect the discrete Video card.

For now, we either have to wait for a patch from Sega or a drive update from Nvidia.

Will that help with frame issues while recording? I wanna upload this to my channel on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/ChimneySwift11)

I'm not sure about recording, but my frame rates go from 17 fps to 60 constant, just make sure you don't double your monitor because for some reason it locks to 34 fps.

Ok thanks, I'll go pick up a HDMI cable today and see if that helps things :) I love bending over backwards to run a game I should be able to run off the start. It needs a big patch!

If I don't get this game working because I want to start my first commentary on it, I will kill sega, I might as well as the trine 2 people if they would lend me a multiplayer beta key so I have something to commnate on.

Ok, once I hook it up to the TV with the HDMI cable it runs mega smooth!

In light of this, is there a way to fake an external monitor? I don't have one, and I certainly am not spending $200 to play this game.

I'm amazed by the lack of consideration for customers apparent in this product. It's the first Sonic game I've looked forward to since Advance 1, and this experience has totally soured me on it.

Does hooking the computer to the tv through an HDMI cable fix the "No valid graphics configuration file found" issue? Cuz I do have an HDMI cable and hook my laptop to my tv all the time to watch shows I've missed that I've had to download, and if this is the fix, that'd be so awesome and so simple! :-) Please say this fixes the issue! :-) I'm not home right now and won't be until tomorrow night to test this theory.

It only fixes it as long as its connected

That's good enough for me. I was planning on playing it on my tv anyways. Can't wait to get home tomorrow night and try it out and see if it works. :-)

I always have my laptop connected to a monitor when using it at my apartment, but I still can't choose the correct graphics card in the settings

So have any of the patches fixed this problem? I can't log in to steam right now but I'm eager to find out.

Otherwise, are there any other fixes?

Nothing.

Doesn't work for me. In the configuration, with extended desktop all I get is Intel #0 and #1. It still only launches with the Intel graphics.

Patch did nothing for optimus users. We'll wait and see. At this point its 30$ down the drain for me....at least I can play the Genesis games, but then again I do have Sonic Genesis collection on ps3 anyways...

Fortunately, I have two computers...the old one might just work better for me.

Also, my girlfriend got it to work on her comp, so she's enjoying it. It's a brilliant game from what I've played, but it's just kind of frustrating in principle that Sega didn't address this problem ahead of time, and that we're not hearing from them about it now. It's a widespread problem that affects a lot of people.

I won't be returning it, but damn.

Ahaha, yeah. On a Qosmio x770 laptop here, and hooking up a secondary monitor just added another Intel onboard video to my configuration dropdown list. :(

I have a primary as well, (580 GTX ironicly), but my gf is in assignment season so she stole it for Autocad/3DSmax and sketch up and all that bullplop

I'm playing it on ps3, its really good, but the detections can be really sloppy.

Also I dont like the 3D sonic like I did with sonic adventure 2, it just seems like he cant jump or turn, it feels more like a racing game than a platforming game.

he seems very stiff!

Doesn't work at all for me. Using an external monitor detects the card but still comes up with the error message when starting the game.

Make sure you have it set to 555M GT, and also have the nvidia drivers auto select when card it needs to use (do opposite if it was already like that) lol .

Yeah, I did all of that, didn't do anything.

Seems like you fall under the even unluckier ones. And are you doubling the monitor? Or extending?

I don't have a laptop with Optimus so I don't really know how that system works. I guess it changes to the faster card when it's needed? Can't you start a 3D game, ALT+TAB out of it, then start Sonic and when it's started close the other game again? Or maybe start the other game in window mode and then start Sonic and close the other game after that?

I tried doubling initally and it didn't detect it. Only extending the monitor actually detected it and then I just ran into the same issues I described earlier.

I tried this the other day and it didn't work. Oh well, I guess I have to be patient and wait for them to fix this.

Are we talking about hooking a laptop to an external computer monitor, or an actual TV? I still haven't been home to try this out to see if it works. I'll be so disappointed if I try this when I get home and it doesn't work. :-(

I dunno if it made a difference, but I had it hooked up through HDMI not Vga.

I already tried having a game running in Background, still nothing.
