I rent a linux server running CS:Source. I would like to add the map de_inferno to my rotation of standard maps. Where can I find the Linux version of this map? (I'm new to Linux and this is my first Linux game server......so please be gentle, I'm learning!)

Maps are not dedicated to Linux or Windows. Except in case of bugs, they work with both OSs.

Concerning de_inferno, I know de_inferno_s_v2, but the CS 1.5 textures are everthing but pretty.

You can download de_inferno_s_v2 there:
http://sh4rk93.free.fr/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=6
It is in French; just look for the de_inferno_s_v2 link and you will download a RAR file.

Thanks Hagen.
When I tried to download and extracrt the .rar file previously, I got a .bsp file.
I did not know where to place this file in my map directory because this diectory has no .bsp file types.
I will download from the site you suggested. Do you know what files types I will get when I extract it and where to place these files on my server?

The RAR file does not only countain a BSP file, but material files. The BSP file should be in directory /maps while the other files should be in various sub-directories of directory /materials. The file and directory hierarchy is already present in the RAR file. It should correspodn to that of your server.

OK, sounds good
Downloaded the map files, unpacked, and copied the map to my map directory and the materials to the material directory. Server is still not recognizing map and will not run.
I notice that the maps already on my server have a .bsp file and .nav file. The map I downloaded has no .nav file.
Could this be the problem?

No, .nav files are not necessary. I believe that they are used by bots.
Try to restart your server for the new map to be taken into account.

.nav files are very neccsariy. They tell the hostages were to go when you try to resuce them without them no rescueing hosties for you

hi
i found an awesome de_inferno map, at
http://nordlichtclan.ngz-server.de/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=7&min=10&orderby=titleA&show=10

it seems that some players' computers just freeze when they try to leave the base.
all in one, the map is best looking de_inferno for source i ever seen.

All of the various versions of de_inferno that I have tried
do not have any .nav file when I extract them (just .bsp and materials). What is up with that?

Muie:
Does the version of de-Inferno you are referring to have the .nav file?

Inferno doesnt have a .nav file, because its a de map and there are no hostages. If you really want one you can do an rcon nav_generate or something to generate one when the map is running on your server.
