I've just bought inMomentum because it sounded like an unusual take on a racing game and I thought I'd enjoy it. But unfortunately I can't stand to play a game about speed and momentum when it locks my controls and forces me to wait for the narrated tutorial to finish before I'm even allowed to look around. When it comes to tutorials, I don't have a lot of patience. Taking control of the camera for demonstrative purposes is fine by me, but please don't arbitrarily restrict my controls simply because I haven't been told to look around yet.

So please, give us an option to skip the currently playing tutorial message, and don't freeze the player in place unless it's absolutely necessary.

Tutorial is very short anyway. If you don't have the patience for it then I'm afraid you don't have patience for many other things in video games..

The fact that it manages to be irritating in such a short time sort of adds to my point. I just hate to see the first moments of gameplay having, well, relatively little gameplay. The timer at the corner of the screen reinforces it as well.

Tutorial sucks hard and you might as well go into the actual game and try to learn it yourself.

PROTIPS:

The point is to reach the end of the level by collecting all the spheres on Sphere Hunt or get there ASAP on Time Trial.
Press MOUSE1 to jump off of walls. On normal difficulty you can do this twice. On higher difficulties, you can only do this once and the height of your wall-jump gets nerfed.
Press MOUSE2 to jump.
Press Space to shoot a ball of energy. This is used to shoot at giant colorful blocks that can open colorful barriers for you to pass through.
Keep practicing to learn momentum, ramp jumping, etc.

There, I have successfuly made a superiour tutorial to that of the actual game. Devs should pay me.

Also aim down and press space while right click jumping for a large speed increase.

The tutorial almost had me pulling my hair. It needs to be reworked.

The tutorial is balls but if you consider that a deal-breaker you have the will of a paper plane.

left click wall and mid-air jumps, right click ground, spacebar for shoot, sphere hunt requires you touch all of them, time trial doesn't (but gives you a time bonus for doing it). Done.

If only it was that short and allowed me to skip/read ahead.

I just did the tutorial about 2 sec ago. It does well to show you the ropes, however you should not be locked in place when it is talking to you.
You should be able to run about and practice jumping and whatnot when it is talking to you, but not be able to progress to the next area.
Just my $0.02 :)

I hate it how it locks the camera again after you are told to try it, and movement after you are told how to move.

They should just lock each action until you are told how to do that. After I learn how to move the camera, I want to move the camera!

They shouldn't lock camera movement and at least walking at all, ever. It's almost 2012, there isn't a single person playing inMomentum that hasn't at least played an FPS before.

Rarely has any tutorial caused this much frustration and agony in that short of a time.
