Seemingly Random Massive FPS Drops. Please Help

Like the title says. A good example is in the hub world I'm getting a steady 60 fps but then when I zoom out it drops to just above 20 fps. It can't possibly be that much more taxing. I also get random slowdowns during levels in areas that don't seem to be any different than any where else.

Any ideas of how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Here are my specs:
CPU: AMD 1090T 6-core @ 3.8Ghz
GPU: 2 x AMD HD 5770 (crossfired)
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz

As you can see, it would seem like the game should just run perfectly smooth on my rig.

Do you keep a lot of programs running in the background? I know this game is a memory hog. I also have 4 gigs of ram and ending processes helped me keep the framerate consistent.

EDIT: Also in some spots, from what I've been reading, it's most likely the game itself. Hopefully we'll see a patch soon.

So I tried disabling my crossfire and that completely fixed the issue. I hope either SEGA or AMD get on this so I don't have to disable then re-enable crossfire every time I want to play.

When did they say this? It obviously is some kind of memory leak, but when did Sega come out and say they were going to fix it?
