If you're posting on this forum, I'm pretty sure that won't be an issue.

You dont understand me, is one time every time that you open steam.
Example i turn off my Lap Top in my house, then for the weekend i go to the beach, where i dont have internet, i turn on my Lap top and try to login Steam and it says something like "steam is not ready for offline mode" , so i get two days of not being able to play the games for which i previously had paid.
so until you're not able to go offline, without having to first go to online mode, Steam will not be more than a sad DRM.

I've gone days without internet and never had a problem playing steam games. I get more "Not available at this time" errors when it's online than I do when it's offline.

Cuz you probably never close Steam.
Again, this is not a problem or a bug, is a system, is a DRM incorrectly disguised.

I don't care what you call it... I've never had a "system" get in the way of me playing steam games offline, even without internet for a few days.
My ISP had a really bad stint a while back of which we ended up without internet for a week and a half, and I still played all of my steam games fine.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about.
I've went weeks without internet and played steam games the whole time whilst offline.
You must have an active internet connection ONCE to activate your copy of the game. After that, unless the game is under specific external DRM dictating otherwise (like AC2), then you do not need an active internet connection to play.
Steam allows you to do this for a maximum of, I believe, three months before you need to sign in again with an internet connection.

Offline mode only works if you let it save your password and let it update everything it may want to update before going offline. But once you do and and actually go offline, it won't complain anymore.

Oh please, from the Steam suport offline mode:
"Using Offline Mode on a PC.
Please follow the instructions below to configure Offline Mode on your PC:
1.Start Steam online..."

You know that only little queens say things like 'oh please' don't you?
Just saying.

In about ten to twenty minutes you'll have managed to read more than the first three words and it will all start to come together. Possibly, even before sundown.

A lion king meme, befitting of your prior branding as a homosexual.
@SupWithThat - I'm not sure how anybody's sexual preferances come into this
@Esternocleido - you are right that Steam requires you to activate the game and make sure it is up to date at least once - after that you can stay offline for several months at a time.
However, sometimes if you try to restart steam in offline mode with an internet connection active it will automatically try to go online. If you want to stay in offline mode because of a crappy modem connection for example, it is best to disconnect your internet before you start the Steam client, then reconnect it once the client is running - this may have been why you had issues.

Uh-oh, it's a testosterone filled homophobic! Or a kid pretending to be super hetero and manly.

I don't even remember last time i was online with steam. Just remember to make it sign in automatically to avoid that spam issue. Beware ubisoft games which requires activation everytime you start the game.
