View Full Version : Conjurated Weapons vs Normal Weapons

Does anyone know how good the conjured weapons can get?
I've learned an apprentice spell, called Bound: Sword, and it does 11 damage.
Tested if one-hander damage multiplier works on it, and it does.
With 40% extra damage, and improved conjured weapon perk I managed to get it up to 23 damage, however that still feels quite low, compared to what weapons I could get from smithing.
Did anyone try this before, or is there any way to find out the possible spells of a magic school?
Any info would be appreciated.

Historically, a bound weapon is equivalent to a deadric weapon

Yeah, I would really like to see how a Bound Bow stacks up to say... an Ebony bow, which I'm using right now.

Yep, apparently the prima guide says base stats for bound = base stats for deadric (enchanted daedric is stronger though unless you have the soul trap perk)

All right, so Smithing > Conjured weapons.
Cons of smithing wep:
enchant slot
improveable
infinite
cons of conjured weapons:
free
perma soul-trap
can banish, turn undead (negligible)
Thanks for the answers.

Yeah, just say that when you’re up against enemies that summon daedra. <_< And most of the places you need to look for Shout words and dragonic artifacts are FULL of undead.
Also, make sure to look at the skillsets for both types. Blacksmithing and Enchanting are two different skills, with their own perks you need to invest in. The result is better armor and weapons of course.
The upshot of going bound, and investing in only one skill, is you’re now able to summon not only bows, but also frost atronachs and eventually (I hear) daedra. Just… try not to friendly fire them with the banishing bow…. ._.

Enchanting is a must have for everybody, considering you can easily get +60% or more damage from it, or health, or whatever.
Smithing increases your armour by like 60-90%, add armour perks to that, and you are a mobile tank.
I am using conjuration for pets mainly :]

Question: Can you get light dragonscale armor without having to smith it? I don't think my character can go Conjur/Bow/Sneak/Ench/LightArmor/Smith without getting too watered down.

Smithing, Enchanting and Alchemey are game breaking.

Thats near 2.5k armour rating and two handed weapons doing 3200 damage per swing with 1 handed weapons doing 2700 per swing and theres nothing in game with more than 3100 health

That makes the game kinda pointless, doesn't it? :\
I wish the skills were separated to combat and non-combat skills. I would love to get lockpicking and pickpocketing, but don't feel like sacrificing everything for it.

I made myself essentially invincible with enchanting in Oblivion (max armor level, 100% magic resistance, enchanted weapons). The game got quite boring.
I don't feel any need to do that again. I could see it being useful, potentially, if I had a lot of free perks to put into it (otherwise what I could make doesn't compare to the items I'm finding).

Ahh Yes good old 120% invisibility, the menace will come to skyrim eventually.

I think I'll limit myself to enchanting, else the game may become too easy.
This way I can actually pick pickpocketing, or something :>.

My first thought when reading this thread were that now I'm scr**ed since I would now have to learn to use a bound weapon in order to banish enemy dremoras and atronachs, but then I remembered I have the 'Expel Daedra' and 'Command Daedra' spells.
Isn't it a bit redundant to have both a banishing bound weapon and a 'Expel Daedra' spell, especially when they are both from the same school of magic? I know that one requires more magicka and expertise than the other, but still.

I've used the bound sword since i was level 15 odd, and I think it gains damage every time you level, don't know if its your conjuration level, or your main level

Uh... Con means a negative quality.
All of your "cons" are GOOD things. :p
