ATI SOLUTION: Check the box to use application settings for antialiasing in Catalyst Control Center.

The 3D portion of the Sideway demo appears to run smooth, but I it's unplayable because I can't see the graffiti. I can't even see my avatar.

It's as if there's a giant between the camera and the environment which masks everything out. The following picture displays the tip of some graffiti towards the mid-top which will disappear when the camera angle changes.

Meanwhile, I can see things I shouldn't. The picture also displays a car through the first building. Likewise, the introductory camera sweep through the level displayed chain link fences through buildings.

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 2
Card: ATI Radeon HD 3650

Do you know what version of the ATI graphics driver's you're using?

Provider: ATI Technologies Inc.

Direct3D Version: 7.14.10.0867
OpenGL Version: 6.14.10.11161

I was having the same issues as you.
I have an Asus ROG G73 with an ATI 5770 mobile and 11.8s.

When I clicked update on the Catalyst control center it would go through all the motions, but not update. (Stuck at 11.8)

Due to other issues with Mass Effect 2, I uninstalled every ATI thing on my computer so the card uses native Windows 7 drivers.

After I did that, the graffiti displays fine in Sideway.
Not that I want to run my computer without Catalyst drivers, but the computer refuses to install any Catalyst stuff now.

I think I need to take the PC to my tech guy.

Anyway, hope that helps

Hi,

So I kept hammering on the Catalyst install issues I had been having.

To summarize, I had 11.8 mobile drivers and the same issue as the original poster.
Then I removed everything ATI from my computer so it would use the Default Windows driver. And at least in Sideway, I could see everything as intended.
Since then I have managed to install Catalyst 11.11 mobile drivers which are the latest. But now the missing decals problem is back.

So I conclude that 11.8 and 11.11 ATI mobile drivers may have an issue rendering Sideway decals.

I will try changing some application options in the graphics settings and see if it fixes it.

I tried adjusting Mipmaps to highest quality and disabling Catalyst AI but it did not change the issue.

At this point it would be useful to know if anyone with 11.11s can see things properly.

I'm using CCC 11.10 as I type this, but I can now see the graffiti if I check the box to use application settings for antialiasing. Turning it back to the 2x box filter I was using displays the effect I was seeing before.

I have confirmed this solution works with 11.11 mobile drivers as well.
Looks like the 2D part of the graphics (hero, enemies) don't tolerate ATI's antialiasing treatment.

Thanks Wraith
