So for those who have finished what were your impressions of the ending? I hope there is going to be a sequel iv really enjoyed both games so far. What do you guys think?

I think its a good ending and one the signals that they will move to a different main villain, which I welcome. Not that I think the Joker is bad, quite the opposite Hamils acting is brilliant, its just that some change would be nice.
On that note I hope they change the structure of the game as well so that it doesn't become 'same again but with different boss'.
But then again I though Bane died in Asylum so maybe the end is not the end :).
But then again I though Bane died in Asylum so maybe the end is not the end :).
But Bane never died in the Asylum nor was even shown to do so, he simply got the Batmobile smashed into his body, as Batman says, he knew that wouldn't be enough to finish him off, besides if you watch the credits until the end, one of the "extra" endings show Bane grabbing a box of Titan, so it was always shown that he wasn't over, as for the Joker, he had a fitting end, he went out like one of the best villains ever, bringing him back would be like spitting on his performance
Either way, I think the ending is really, REALLY fitting, I can see two things heading towards a sequel though...
Harley's baby and Clayface after his encounter with the Lazarus pit?

With Harley's kid I'm hoping they jump it on to Batman Beyond. Would be pretty sweet playings as Terry and having Bruce speaking to you from the Batcave. And that opens up a lot more villain options like The Royal Flush Gang.

Terry is a badass the only problem I have with Beyond is that their villians are really dull.
I liked the ending but, it made me go wtf happens next when Gordon says "what happened?".

Well i think we all know Joker's not coming back, because this probably was Hamil's last time as the Joker. It would be an insult to have another person do the Joker for a game in this series.

When I saw the ending, I actually had to cry a little.
Can't believe the Joker's dead. He is one of the most epic and greatest villains of all time!
As for a sequel, I really hope there will be one, I am sure Rocksteady can make something epic again ^^

I was expecting a Joker trilogy (because every game nowadays must be a trilogy) and then moving on to some other villain. So I was really surprised with the ending of arkham city. And the credits... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥it, even though it was just a music with the names it was so ♥♥♥♥ing strong. And the scene of Batman carrying out the Joker with "Joker the Immortal" in the end.
Don't know what they are going to do with the series, but seeing that they aren't afraid of toying with the established plot (I mean, Hugo and Joker dead IN THE SAME GAME) makes me so happy. The possibilities are imense, and I applause rocksteady.

One of the best endings to a game I've had the pleasure of playing in a long time.
This is better than Dark Knight and thats like my favorite movie.
I been saying for a long time that Heath Ledger is the best Joker but we all know thats not true. Mark Hamill is Joker period and if this is truly the end of him doing the voice I couldn't have asked for a better way to end it.

A little plothole, I might have missed something - could someone explain it please?
If the antidote is gone, what happens to all the people of Gotham who were infected with the Joker's blood?

I was sad to see Talia al Ghul die, I hope she didn't so she can come back for another game, I really liked her character.

I never understood who tied up Harley and why. Was it Mr. Freeze? Joker? What.

I was wondering the same thing. I talked with a friend about and we eventually decided that it must have been Talia. After Harley stole the cure from the safe at the GCPD, Talia probably intercepted her, took the cure back and then tied her up. It would explain why she was so nearby to stop Joker killing Batman.

Talia stopped Harley. Joker pretended to be cured just to boost the morale of his gang and was prepairing for his return, but that was a premature celebration on his behalf
As for the next game: Azrael mentioned something about Batman closing the gates of hell and from the ashes of Arkham city Gotham will burn, so will Batman. What do you guys think he meant? Was he talking about Hell literally or was it just a metaphor?

Well, if you look at it from a logical side, and things that happened in the game. I'd say "Hell" is another word for Arkham City. That Arkham City will be demolished by explosives etc. And from the ashes they will start a massive attack on Gotham and I guess destroy it, and Batman then. This is just a theory, and probably incorrect too

I think Scarecrow will be a main villain in the next game. You can find a secret area with a shipping manifest directed to "J. Crane". Also in Hush's hideout you can see a couple of fear toxin tanks. There's even a radio message that says something like "you'll pay for what you've done to me. Fear will tear Gotham city apart".
When Azrael talks about "closing the gates of hell", maybe it will be like Batman Begins where the city was attacked by fear toxin and made people think they were seeing demons.

Batman Begins what the best Batman game i have ever played and still is. Although i didn't get those crazy inmates "eating" people. (If i remember in a mission a crazy inmate attacks a guy and bites him:confused:)

They made a game to accompany the movie back in the day.

i think the reason they killed off joker was probably because even if there is a sequel, i doubt mark hammil would reprise his role as the joker AGAIN.
He was rather reluctant to return for Arkham City in the first place.
If there is s sequel, i hope they focus on 1-2 villains like AA; i found AC to have too many villains (spiderman 3 syndrome) which werent fleshed out as well.
AC is a good transition from a Joker-centric game to one with a different villian.
