Hey all,
As the game has just been released here in the UK, me and two friends bought it and installed it. However, as we played the game together and on Skype, we shortly found that there is no push-to-talk or mute in-game. This meant that we had to use the in-game microphones which tbh, isn't the best.
However, we found two solutions to muting in-game microphones so you don't hear each other in-game which helps alot when you are in a skype call, vent, teamspeak, etc.
First Solution
So, this actually didn't work for me but worked for my two mates.
So you want to find a old headset or webcam (that has a mic) and plug it in ASWELL as your headset you are using. You then want to your 'Recording Devices' in Windows. (This is where you change volume of everything, set your mic, etc etc.) When you go into 'Recording', it should pick up your own headset aswell as your webcam or old/other headset. You then want to set your old/other microphone and click 'Set as Default Device'. You then want to go in your voice software (skype, etc) and make sure the microphone on that is set to your actual headset you are using.
This basically means, your primary microphone will only be set to the voice software and not the game. This means your old mic or webcam will be used as the in-game mic so then you wanna mute it or tuck it behind some clothes to make sure it can't be heard.
Second Solution
So, I tried the first one but it didn't seem to work. No matter how many clothes or how far away I put my webcam, it still picked up my talking in-game.
So, you don't need your old headset/webcam anymore so you can unplug it or w/e. You want to now navigate to: http://www.windows7download.com/win7-virtual-audio-streaming/download-qaizlyxs.html
and download the programm. It should just auto-matically start installing. Now that you have it installed, you will now go to your 'Recording Devices' and it should have picked up something called 'Virtual Audio Streaming Driver'. Similar to the first solution, you now want to set this to your default device. Same as above, make sure that your voice software still has it set to your primary microphone.
Basically this acts as a fake microphone and does exactly as the first solution but doesnt actually exist rather than a old mic or webcam.
Anyway, that's it from me. Hope it helps you guys and gals!
If some of the above isn't clear as I have literally just wrote it off the top of my head, please feel free to PM/Post/or add me on steam (killer_bee88) to ask any questions!
