Hey forums,

I'm just wondering if it's supposed to be as ugly as I'm seeing...cos the general world environments are pretty gross.

The facial animation is top-notch, of course, but everything else looks pretty low-quality.

I have everything maxed, game runs fine, did I miss something? Does it look ugly to anyone else?

I'm going to play it through anyway, not gonna waste $25 by not playing, but I'm just a little disappointed with the graphics. I know graphics aren't everything, but I was expecting a bit more.

The gameplay somewhat makes up for it, though, and the story is pretty good.

Are the graphics really that bad? I think it's quite good and I love the immersion.

I was expecting a little more as well in regards to the graphics...

However, the game still looks great in small areas (Houses, crime scenes, etc...

The game doesn't look its best when driving around... This doesn't bother me to much. Could it look better, yes!

I almost think that the original Mafia looked nicer when driving around!!!!

It's not ugly. The graphics are really good, if your system can handle it. It needs the 30's & 40's look, that it has, to set the scene. If that's ugly to you, then I guess it's ugly.

Yeah, that's what I'm noticing. Looks good in more important areas, like specific to the story, but the city itself is rather bland.

I'm digging the gameplay though, it's pretty good.

Like I said, max settings and runs fine. My system can handle it.

30's and 40's look =/= bland and ugly textures. Mafia II was set in the same period and looked better, so my issue obviously isn't the time period.
