What is up with this? Good games that go out with a whisper and never be heard from again after a few months. All because the "game" is an interactive movie.

Then why is Arkham Asylum still played by many on PC and regarded as possibly the best licensed comic book game?

Unless your definition of "many" is you and your other 3 broski's or so, then I'm sure you've got your statistics all wrong: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/
Find Arkham Asylum. Bet you can't find it.
And yes, PC games NEED mod tools AND console commands (or rather be open-sourced) to be claimed as a TRUE PC game.

AC is on there.
Anyone ever say AC is a "TRUE" PC game. It's a great game that's also on the PC platform, and the current stats that you posted back that up.
Why are you here trolling on AC, when you should be enjoying Skyrim...errr..but not as much as Dark Messiah which didn't have mods.
Besides...no mods is a blessing as I don't have to try out your terrible attempts at mods like you tried to make for Dead Island.
More proof that he's spamming threads on the same subject (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=26539648).

The fact that AC is on the list you posted is also still there so are plenty of games that don't have a third party market. RAGE console commands and people don't consider it a PC game.
Facts are also that you have spamed this topic at least three times.

I don't understand why die-hard PC gamers even bother buying any game that is also on the consoles. You are just disappointed every time and feel the need to let everyone know how the consoles have ruined gaming.

There's no reason for Arkham Asylum to still be in the top Steam games. Steam isn't required to play it. I sure don't have it on Steam. It's not like Just Cause 2 or MW2, where every person who plays does so on Steam.
PC games haven't always had mod tools and console commands. There are games that are complete garbage console ports that have dev consoles, and great PC games that are best played with a gamepad. At least, I sure liked playing Commander Keen with my old Gravis Pad...

Oh god, this guy again?
Guys look. he obviously just discovered Skyrim and mod tool and now believes every game in the world must be like this or it fails.
if any of you remember in his last fail thread he tried to make out that some other heavily modded games didn't use any and were bad because of it.
Just ignore his bs and let the thread fall to the bottom, then he has no one to spew his nonsense at but himself.
He is either a troll or just plain stupid.
Either way, don't feed it.

never understood that urge to mod and etc, sounds me like an apology from the producers that says "oh well, our game sucks, so you can mess with it so you can make it suck less when you're playing"
"real" PC gamers: get over it. your stupid elitism will get you nowhere unless you start working on the industry instead of masturbating to your nude mods of females.

Only problem I have is the stuttering in DX11. Turn those effects off and it runs almost perfectly for me.
It won't take them several months to patch, another week tops is all it will take.
Nothing game breaking at all. Don't talk crap.

Arkham City runs on the Unreal Engine 3 because they started development on the game and didn't know Epic upgraded their engine to 3.5, so....this game is not only unmoddable and without console commands, it is also running on an outdated engine, as compared to Gears of War 3, a console-only game.
And, I never meant to make anyone mad, but obviously, some people are hurt and they are flaming back hard, and I'm glad for that. To those flaming people, I blame you for the destruction of PC games. You are the root cause of console elitism and failed PC games that are just played and forgotten, like this one. :D :D :D

Plenty of PC games have been played and forgotten in years past, all the way back to the early 90s. Try harder.
None of what you say has impact on the quality of the game, which barring a DX11 issue, is rather good.
You are spamming the SAME EXACT THREAD several times in this forum, and have a post-history known for carpet bombing remedial threads in trolling fashion. That's your post history...yours.

Do you think I'd make this up? The cinematics are stuttering and slow for me in DX9, and twice now I've got stuck with a black screen after key boss fights without the ability to progress. I've defeated Joker 6 times now and each time is crashes after/before the catwoman/ivy cinematic.

Probably the part where he said "Nothing game breaking at all. Don't talk crap."
Search for "Raz Agul black screen" or "Joker black screen". These two boss fights seem to be causing game-breaking roadblocks for several users on both the PC and XBOX.

You have a problem on YOUR system.
It's working fine for me, and thousands of other people.
You can't make a blanket statement that the game is bad just because YOUR system has a problem. If the game itself was broken, EVERYONE would have the same problem. Like the DX11 problem: Sure, DX11 is broken in the game. But it works fine without DX11 for most people, and there will be updated drivers or a patch that fixes DX11, or maybe there won't be and the game will still be fundamentally fine.

What's wrong with games that are beaten once and then "forgotten"?
In my opinion it's the experience that counts, not how long you have played the game.
I have beaten several games just once and never played them again, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten them. Some of them are in my favorite games of all time-list. I have also played some games for over hundred hours, but that doesn't mean they are in my favorite games-list or that they are better than the ones I completed in less than 15 hours.
Maybe this game is not a true PC-game, but no one ever said that it was. This game is a multi-platform game, just like most games are these days. It's true that at this moment the game has some problems, but the problems are not game-breaking and they will be fixed sometime in the near future... until then you can enjoy the game by disabling the features that are causing the glitches.

Yeah, sure, it was so much better when games like this didn't get released at all on PC. I wish I couldn't play this awesome game at all on PC. Wait, what?
Seriously, never before have so many game types/genres that are considered "console style" (3rd person action, fighting, split-screen co-op, etc) been available on PC. Even if they are straight up ports, they are still cheaper and look better on PC. It's awesome not having to by a console to play games like this or Sonic Generations. And we still get plenty of PC-oriented titles as well, the PC has more "exclusives" than any other platform.

Actually, if you want to see the other side of the coin, go check out some Dungeon Defenders forums. The console gamers are throwing a sh*tstorm because they aren't getting the free content, patches, etc. as fast as we are.

See, console-tards feel it too. It's just legit, die-hard PC are affected more by these problems because alot of people have lost hope in PC gaming.
9 times out of 10, games are ported to the PC from the consoles. That's just how things have changed.

You know why PC gamers suffer? Because Microsoft and Sony have certain "monetary incentives" to get companies to release their games Console-exclusive or postpone PC releases for months.
Big bucks can be made with console versions since everyone who is to lazy or incompetent to maintain a decent PC tends to buy an overpriced, outdated piece of electronic garbage that hinders the whole industry from advancing to the next level with all the possibilities modern CPUs, GPUs and operating-systems offer.
I don't blame companies going the easy route and keep on presenting the same old sh*t every year, because from an economical standpoint, it is just not worth it to create games that are optimized for PC, because they could not run on the consoles every 14 year old talked his parents into buying...
Wait for Microsoft's next OS, they claim it will be optimized for gaming, they will pay a lot to get developers to jump ship and do PC-exclusive projects, this will shake up the whole gaming-landscape, I promise you...

Let's just shut this punk down again.
From his prior thread full of ignorant hyperbole:
How much you wanna bet that a great game like this will fall into oblivion after like 3 months at most?
Know why? Consolitis. No mods on the PC version just spells "play and forget."
DLC's are bad, and they are costly and won't keep old players playing the game very long, and it won't attract new players either.
Sux if you bought this piece of junk.
If you disagree, however, when was the last time any of you played Dragon Age, or Witcher 2, or Mass Effect 1, or Deus Ex human revolution, or any other "good" titles that have absolutely no mods?
My retort:
Failed troll is fail.
First off, Witcher 2 has mods. It's had mods since nearly day one. http://www.witchernexus.com/downloads/
Secondly, Dragon Age 2 has mods. It's had them for some time. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/
Third, there are mods for Deus Ex Human Revolusion (you really are full of fail, aren't you). https://www.google.com/search?q=deus+ex+human+revolution+mods&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org
Fourth, Mass Effect 1 and 2 have mods uploaded to Bioware's Mass Effect site and listed in their forums.
Fifth, I've played all of those games for hundreds of hours a piece at least, thousands if you count total hours together. A few like Dragon Age 2, Witcher 2 and Deus Ex just last month. And I'll certainly be playing through Mass Effect 1 and 2 again, prior to the release of 3.
I don't think I've ever seen someone so utterly fail in an opening post as you.

Eh, as a long time PC gamer I can honestly say mod tools don't mean too much to me. Sure it's nice for games like Unreal and TF2 which can introduce tons of user-created maps. But for single-player games like Batman it makes no difference to me if there are mod tools.
For these kinds of games I'm more interested in game length and variety of content, and Batman certainly has enough of this to keep me hooked and entertained for a great deal of time.
Sure it would be nice if these DLC enhancements can be introduced in free patches. But not everybody has the same integrity or respect that Blizzard or VALVe has. If it's not worth buying just don't buy it. However, it is kind of sickening thinking this content could already have existed at release and the developers plucked it to sell to us later on as a DLC. When an expansion comes out only a month after release it rubs me the wrong way, especially when there's bugs which could use their attention instead. I guess that's my biggest gripe with DLC. It shifts focus away from support.
