Virtua Tennis 4 - Fatal Error!

I bought Virtua Tennis 4 last october. I still can´t play this game, becasue as soon as i finish downloading the game i try to launch it and I get a message saying: "Configuration file is either corrupt or missing. Please restart Virtua Tennis 4".
I've reinstalled it 3 times (downloading the game each time).
My computer is a HP Compaq 8710p. Mi OS is Windows Vista Business 64 bits Service Pack 2. Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo CPU T7500 2.20 Ghz. My card is a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 320M.

Check that you have .NET 3.5 installed which is required by the configuration program. .NET versions 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 won't be any good.

I'm having the EXACT same problem! I bought the game on Steam several months ago on my desktop. Installed it on my laptop a few days ago, started the game, got prompted about the Live update, updated, restarted, then BAM! Same error as you get. . . Only way to even get the game to start again is to validate the install in Steam, it then redownloads a few files and the game can be started again. But what it does is, it's removing the patch. . Which is REQUIRED to be able to log in on Live.

WTF!? This is clearly something that Microsoft (or Sega) and Valve has to work out? It annoys the crap out of me. I want to be able to play the game on the move, while being online filling up those 'chievs (achievements) on my live account.

This is unacceptable, and i find it strange that more people aren't having the same problem. Anyone have any serious ideas on how to fix it (if it doesn't require a dev-fix)?

I just bought Virtua Tennis 4 on sale and I'm getting the same error.

Everything works before the update (required by GFWL to access online features), after the upgrade I only get "configuration file is either corrupt or missing. please restart virtua tennis 4".

Anyone found a solution?

did you uninstall COMPLETELY before reinstalling?

btw do you have .NET installed? and if so, do you know what version?

SORRY,
but the problem is the latest update for the game. It breaks the game and it is unable to start. The game only starts without the patch, no matter what. And without the patch you can't play online.

Sega has done a BIG mistake and never took care of fixing it. A new patch could solve the problem but it seems like Sega doesn't care about it.

Oh, btw, I bought the game on the latest sale to play it online and guess... I can't. Shame on Sega.

otra cosa tambien es que inicio por segunda vez windows marketplace y me dice que descargue algo para que funcione....inicio la descarga y no se instala nada.....
