Sound is low bitrate?

Hi.
I just got this game from the indie royal bundle, and I noticed that the sound is calm, soothing and clear tones which is really fitting for a game of this type.
But to me, it sounds like the sounds are of really bad quality and I only gotten to level 6, but now it's reached the point that whenever the flowers squirts or whatever, I am considering muting, because it screeches in my ears.

Is this a bug with me, or is it intended or what?

I am afraid this is by design, but maybe there is something about your setup that makes it worse? (Nobody complained about it before so I wonder)

Also, you can lower the sound effect volume in the options menu, and if you are really brave you can hack the sounds yourself to be more pleasing :-D (they are in your "resources" folder)

Just playing the game muted instead :) .
