there were 2 islands left. one was completely mine, but empty. no buildings or units. the other was what we fought over. the entire second island (about 6 fields) was at level 1, and my enemy had only one field with only one unit and an excavator on it. next turn was supposed to be my victory. you can imagine my surprise when he suicided, destroying the entire island with his excavator (or whatever the mining thing is called), and instead of victory i got a defeat.

so what the hell? i still had the other island entirely under my control. the island we were fighting on was full of my own excavators anyway, it would fall apart the next turn. that was the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ point of my tactic, to destroy the island. and then he does it for me, and HE gets the victory? jesus...

victory conditions = you have to own a field with either a walker or a building
see also help section ingame (don't know the english term, I have the german game)

You get eliminated if at one point you don't have any structure or walker left. No matter how many tiles are yours : if there's nothing on them, they're no use.

So what happened here is that both players were eliminated the same turn (PC got nothing left, you had only empty tiles). And in case of both players being eliminated at the same turn, it's the one who sacrificed (meaning : the one whose turn it is) who win.

To avoid this fate, you should have built a little something, even a simple harvester, on your island.
