I can't get into Solitude (spoiler alert)

Anyone know what I can do about this? I finished the civil war quest line, moved on, now I need to get back into Solitude and it's not on my map. Well, I headed up there anyways and Ulfric is there with a handfulls of guards. He gives this huge speech, now I've already gone in and done all this. When I try to enter it says I must help them defend the city?

i had a game breaking glitch i which the markarth guards would stop me for crimes and lead to a never ending diolouge meaning i could never get them to take me to jail. it only fixed after i complaeted the stormcloak questline.

try using the console and typing

coc solitude

coc is the code to teleport to a cell.

if you know the name of the place you want to go this will work.

however the cell name of solitude my be something cryptic.

I had the same problem. I bypass the problem each time I want to enter Solitude by going into console and typing

coc SolitudeWinkingSkeever

any Solitude business would work in place of the Winking Skeever, it's just the one I prefer
