Is this audio a joke?? Please tell me it's a bug with a fix...

I just started the game and I'm encountering 2 audio issues that are annoying me to the point where I can't play this game.

1) The footsteps of NPC's. It's on rapid fire loop and sounds like constant pop-corn popping that never ends and is insanely loud.

2) NPC's shout one-liners at me on loop, rapid fire. This means that they're overlapping each other and not taking even breaths before saying the next one. Every single NPC is yelling these at me and it's making me go insane.

Is there any way to fix this? I knew people said it was a bad port but holy crap this is legendary....

The default audio setting is stereo and it sounded the way you describe it (on a surround sound system), horrible. Changing the settings to surround fixed this issue for me.

the sound is also extremely low quality, when played on headphones. i might mess around with it a bit and see if i can figure out optimal settings for that.

Hmm...setting it to surround sound did help a little bit but the NPC's are still rapidly shouting one-liners one after another.

Yeah i don't know what's wrong with the sound but i'm getting dizzy hearing all those footsteps and random speech from everyone at the same time.

Please fix. :(

Try reinstalling? I never had this problem, so I dunno man.

I have the same problem, makes the game unplayable. Anyone found a fix?
