Engage me in a bit of curiosity:
Who was your favorite guardian, and which was your favorite item description? If you list an item, be sure to spoiler-tag the description itself. ;)

I have to say my favorite guardian was probably Guardian the Fourth, Jane. Don't get me wrong, the silliness of other guardians was awesome and I love them all, but Jane was just so awesome to have around. She was badass when you met her for a fight and became sincere and helpful afterwards.
It helps that her fight had my favorite song too. :P

Perhaps not surprisingly, I get hatemail every day from Polish people on that one.

I like dark humor quite a bit. Not only is it funny, but it's an expression of free speech, the one thing in the Canadian constitution I support the most.
...Seems America's forgot about it though.

On the subject of "Polish Remover", I've had lots of long, detailed arguments strongly in favor of offensive jokes. Here are some principles I've gathered from having these discussions:
1. Offensive jokes are funny not because of their potential to offend, but because of their potential to offend people who get easily offended.
2. Jokes do not "trivialize" something in themselves; that is done by the attitude of the joke-teller, and the person telling that joke could trivialize a subject just as easily without a joke.
2.1 The rampant figurative use of a word doesn't make the literal use less severe. No one thinks a seven year old is trivializing the act of killing by saying his friend "killed" the ball at little league practice. Murder is universally recognized as a bad thing, and anyone is rightly horrified when someone they know is a victim of it.
3. If any comment is offensive only by its historical proximity, someone is being a hypocrite. Jokes about Genghis Khan cannot be regarded as tame and jokes about Hitler serious; they have to be both acceptable or both unacceptable, but they can't be both.

I reasoned that it was okay because the humor of the joke does not stem from the fact that Hitler killed a bunch of Polish people, but from a homophone specific to the English language. I feel that many of those E-mailing me may not understand this, English not being their primary language.
For reference, I'm one fourth Polish and all Jewish, so.
But anyway! Back to the favorites. = D

Caleb, because he produced some of the funniest dialogue in the game.
Item description..? Oh, it has to be the Extract, just because of the wild goose hunt it sent me on. :D

Caleb, When I first met him and he was RPing I was like "Are you for real? ... "That's Awesome!" Perhaps I am biased since his song Disorganized Fun is my favorite song now.
As for items...Monotheist, That thing was hilarious the first time. You totally had me prepping for one kind of joke, only you did another! Makes me laugh every time.
But there were so many great ones so I have to tell you my runner up..
Percival, He was so funny, but then again I also talk in his manner when I joke with my brother. My favorite part was when he wanted Kai to insult him and Kai's retort was "your face is..um..stupid" cracks me up just thinking about it..."Your words! They sting like poison barbs!"
Runner up item would be...Orthopedic shoes, that was pretty good as well, especially when you visualize what they look like.
There's just soo many examples it hard for me to choose. Really the only one I could say I didn't like was Donaldo. I just didn't much care for him, although I thought it was cool when Kai almost talked him out of fighting.
As for an item description I didn't like...a Flail. Out of everything that could be offensive, no one rose up to complain about the Flail yet tons of people spammed hate over Polish Remover.

I'm going to mention two different guardians for different reasons. Donaldo is my favorite 'good guy' guardian, with his strong sense of honor and his regret at even having to fight. Sort of an Inigo Montoya, only with less prepare to die.
My favorite 'bad guy' guardian, hands down, Aaron. Plus I love Guitar Sound.
That said, the writing in this game's amazingly solid, so honorable mentions for Percival for being really funny, Eddie for being a real creep, and Caleb for being.. Caleb.
As for items.. The wrongest, but admittedly the one that made me laugh hardest, the Polish Remover. Bonus points because I saw the general nature of the pun coming, but still found myself taken by complete surprise by the details.

The humor of "Gun" is very special, though, since you can understand it in many ways and all work.
