Well, as it happens I gotta spend 1 full day in Toronto to wait for my flight next day and that day happens to be Friday!!!!
It just hit me that instead going to a hotel I'd rather go exploring the nightlife over there. Any suggestion guys?.

Dolce, This Is London, Traffik, Luxy & Guvernment are great clubs.
Google them and check them out, they're all in downtown if I'm not mistaken.

I heard Toronto has some good nightclubs. Pretty sure Guvernment is a famous one.

Thanks for the tips guys. Why are all of them requesting a dress code?. It's kind of weird thing to see here in Tokyo.

Generally dress codes are fairly flexible so long as you don't arrive in shorts, sandals, torn jeans, etc. Basically, they want you to look nice.

Stay in and listen to AM 740 out of Toronto! It's maybe the BEST station in the U.S. that isn't located in the U.S. . You can hear it up and down the east coast at night and they are an ACTUAL radio station unlike all the zombie Clear Channel and Viacom stations that have popped up in America since the internet music wars of the 90's.

Just be careful in Toronto out at night, some areas are REALLY bad and not safe, though I supposed this could be said about any major city.

To be honest with you, you're wrong. For the past few years, there's been a decrease in crime when it comes to these "bad areas". I can walk home drunk and past through bad areas without getting mugged or hassled.

Scared? You're kidding right?
Rules when you go clubbing / drinking in downtown district.
1. Go home with friends
2. Take a cab
3. Streetcar / Bus
4. Always stay in club district until it's time to go to restaurant or home.
The only way I can see somebody get scared is if you're a 100lb 5'9 skinny person who can't defend for themself.. I don't know if you had any past experience with T.Dot when it comes to clubbing, but I betcha you're just paranoid.

Nope, but several of my good friends and girlfriend are young females haha, and I would like to keep them ♥♥♥♥ free. Rules of my city: is it dark? Don't get out of the car unless you're in a well lit parking lot around 20 yards to the door.

Your city just needs a lot more tougher cops. Here in Toronto, during clubbing hours, you'll see a lot of cops.
You'll see them almost everywhere in club district. There's more then 40+ cops patrolling 2 blocks filled with clubs, you got cops with horses, you got cops in bikes & cops with dogs.
To top it all off, there's more then enough cops to man handle you and a big group of friends if there were any trouble. Everybody knows not to screw around in club district area in Toronto because it's hard to get away with whatever you're in trouble for.

Nice! That's how security should be here. I have a friend at college, we're both graduating this year, who got mugged leaving a club. That friend, as it turns out, has a purple belt in Krav Maga and an orange belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Needless to say, my friend won that mugging, disarmed the guy who had a knife. Cops rounded the corner in a hurry, they heard the ruckus from the entrance. They actually initially arrested my friend, who was holding the mugger's knife against him haha.

If you want to hit up a real club for the full clubbing experience, go to the Guvernment. It's practically a rave (or maybe legit is one?). I'm not a huge clubber so not too clear on how it hangs there, but it is known as THE club to go to. Arman Van Buren goes there when he's in town, to give you an idea.
If you want something without a dress code and has a bar atmosphere yet with loud dance music and plenty of drunk dancing girls, check out the Brunswick House. College crowd. The Madison House is similar but less dancing, more socializing and has a bunch of different areas. One section might have a dude on the acoustic guitar singing, another will have a piano dude taking requests (who is awesome), others will have pre-recorded music, etc.
Otherwise, Richmond street between, oh, Duncan and Spadina is a great clubbing district for browsing clubs (The Guvernment is NOT located in this area, though it's close by).
Look at Yorkville for upscale, more expensive nightclubs with dress codes if you want that kinda atmosphere.
I agree, Toronto's bad areas haven't been too troublesome in the past few years. While the clubbing district itself isn't dangerous, you can wander off into a bad area by taking a wrong turn. Again, though, be smart, take a cab home.

It's alright. Never been my thing. The girls here are majorly stuck up, though. Honestly, NYC has way friendlier girls (and by friendly I don't mean loose. I mean genuinely nice people who don't look at every guy as a pervert ♥♥♥♥♥♥).
Btw, Bluz is right. Montreal rocks!

Talk about hockey.
Damn, I can talk of soccer but I'm totally ignorant on hockey. :(

Thanks for the nice description. Since I'm just in transit between a 6-8 hours flight and a 10-12 flight to get to Tokyo I really will wear just comfortable so dress code is probably a downer for me. I wanna go to a place where I can get to dance an interact with the locals, specially girls. Gonna study on the plane about some shoe compliments and hockey, I guess
Is the guverment also into dress code? How much cash is the average night over there?
I will be there from 3-4 pm to 12pm next day that is my flight. What is good to do over there between 4pm and 9pm or so? :)

Hahaha, since I'm going alone it'd be nice to get to know the local culture there. :)
Actually, like here in Tokyo they have a lot of underground bands and performers that you can find in some bars and clubs.

Toronto is more/less like America. We don't have our own culture. There's one too many typical stereotypes that they think is true while realistically speaking it's not and we're just laughing at those who think it's true.
If you want to meet some new people, I suggest meeting them outside of clubs or while waiting in line. Once you hit the clubs, get loose by hitting the bar and the rest is up to you. That's what I did when I went to Montreal, but I was with a couple of friends.
I've always wanted to visit Tokyo, I might in 2012 Summer for a whole month, but that depends if I can get the money. I heard they got some great amazing places to visit in downtown at night, hell even during day time.

Tokyo is a city full of surprises. Been here about 8 years now and I can't have enough of it yet.
Opposite to the general belief, I think Summer is the best season to come over if you're in for fun. The city gets hot, yes, but this means girls wearing almost nothing on!
Also, there is Summer Sonic, Fuji Rock Festival and, of course, beaches!

Actually, if you want to see local underground bands, there are all sorts of great places. Horseshoe Tavern, El Mocambo...... Frankly, I've never been disappointed by the Dakota Tavern. Live music, pleasantly tipsy people (young adults, not solely college), great atmosphere. The last time I was there there was a band that looked like a college bar band, except they were playing 60s R&B (I heard it through the Grapevine, Land of 1000 Dances, Reach Out I'll Be There, and the like) and they were good. Was fantastic.
Honestly, unless you look like a young Brad Pitt, Edward from twilight, The Situation (or are jarateing hundred dollar bills), the real nightclubs (This is London, Guvernment) for the most part will have hot girls that won't look twice at you. Plus, the music's too loud and I refuse to fight it just to be heard (I really hate clubbing). If you want to meet some laid back yet still hot chicks, avoid the clubs.

I think you might be onto something. Still, I think that going with friends to a club might be fun (as opposed to solo). But if it's a 'top club', then getting an entire group in might not even work out.
I once read a very interesting article about how all the hot night clubs are set up. In the end, it's all about getting the rich kids to jaratee Benjamins and the average Johns to try and keep up. And the house always wins ;)
