Oh one thing to note Windows 32bit on a AMD system may have this issue no matter what. They have to my knowledge not fixed this and has explained many errors. There are guides online to get around it though.

There has been a outstanding memory leak in the game sense birth under RTW. Some were able to find a solution others just had to give up. They have said to fully repair APB would take much time.

Lol, theres no memory leak.
I play APB for hours, sometimes 6+, I never crash.
Also his error has nothing to do with what youre talking about.
Id suggest going to the gamersfirst forum (forums.gamersfirst.com/) and asking there. As these here are just the steam forums.

Ya I never had the error but my friend did and we had to follow a guide to modify the config files to fix it.

i would recommend you go to the main G1 forum and look at the bugs section or just post in the forum social district. Could be any easy fix.. maybe driver updates.

Yeah ask around the G1 APB:R forums for some help, there are a lot of resources there for common issues like crashing.
APB does take a lot of memory, when I play for longer periods of time it uses up to 2.5 GB of RAM......2.5 GB is absolutely insane for a single game. Thankfully I have 9 GB RAM to spare.
Which error code is it giving you? And what are your specs? Most of the time when people crash in APB it's because their system can't really take it (graphics card, x32 windows, RAM). Though I have heard of driver and install-related issues. Hope you get it figured out.

Verify your cache through Steam first, make sure you run the support installers as well.
