A Sonic 4 Ep1 entry appeared on the Steam Registry, this means that most likely there's going to be a PC version:

My Wii is going to be jealous of my PC.
True that, especially sense the wii port was dumbed down (No achievements, worse music files, worse graphics)

Well it's probably true, Sonic Generations had the same exact fate IIRC. PC is getting the revamped Sonic CD too.
According to the Sonic 4 Brand Manager, the events in Sonic CD are important for the Sonic 4 story, with Sonic CD being re-released for the PC, I guess it's not too surprising that Sonic 4 is also being released for the PC.

AWESOME. I was wondering if this would happen, after we got Generations and the Sonic CD announcement.
I assume Generations is selling well on PC. Hopefully they're seeing that the market for these 'console-style' games is here on PC as well. We get most cross-platform games as it is, but the cute platformers don't make it our way as often.

In the meantime, Sonic Generations owners can get their Sonic 4 fix by following these simple steps:
Unlock both the Splash Hill music and the Homing Attack skill for Classic Sonic.
Go to Green Hill Zone Act 1, change the music to Splash Hill Zone, and equip the Homing Attack Skill.
Play the stage while somehow replicating the awkward physics of Sonic 4. (This is a JOKE, people; while the physics were indeed odd, I still enjoyed the game to a certain degree when I played it.)
Have fun! :P

If you want more Sonic while we wait for those, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is really good. There's no online multiplayer, but it has up to 4 player split-screen local, which is great. And the single-player is worth the price anyway. Every bit as good as most of the Mario Kart's I have played.

The Sonic 4 Episode 1 Steam registry entry has been updated, now the current version is listed as version 2, previously it was listed as version 0. I wonder if this means that the PC version of S4 Ep1 could be close to be released? Who knows. ^^;

The Sonic 4 Ep1 Steam registry entry keeps getting updated. Earlier this week it was updated to version ID 7, but since nothing else changed, I thought it wasn't a big enough change to make post about it.
Today the registry entry got a more significant update, the version ID in the content entry (app 202531) has been updated again, this time to version 8. The launcher entry (app 202530) has been updated with a "Configure" launch option, this means Sonic 4 Ep1 will use an external configuration tool like Sonic Generations.

A petition is unnecessary, when a game appears on the Steam registry, there's a really big chance that it'll be released, especially when the registry entry keeps getting updated.
And talking about updates, it's been updated again, The content entry (app 202531) has been updated to version ID 9, and the command line for the default launch option in the launcher entry (app 202530) was modified from "SonicLauncher.exe" to "SonicLauncher.exe -QuickBoot".

My guess is that opening the game through the "Configure" launch option will open the launcher, where the settings can be changed, while opening the game through the default launch option will just launch the game (quick boot).

I wonder if Sonic 4 Episode 2 will ever come to Steam. So far it is only going to be released to xbox, ps3, android, iOS, and WP7. It is going to have Tails and Metal Sonic in the game. Also physics will be like on Genesis/Megadrive.

Just noticed something in the Steam registry about Sonic 4 Ep1, they added the Sonic 4 homepage there and added SEGA as the developer. Probably these were added when the registry entry was updated to version 9.

Sonic 4 Ep1 appeared on the subscription tab now, there's 2 entries, one that says "Retail" in the end and another that doesn't. If I'm not mistaken, the one that says "Retail" is for those who buy the game through any store outside of Steam and then register it on Steam, the one that doesn't say it is for those who buy it through Steam.

Usually when games are listed like this in the subscription tab means that they're really close to be released, I think it's quite possible that it could be released sometime in the next days/weeks.
