Really enjoyed this game, played pre-steam launch...then I got bored and stopped playing....
SO I see the launch on steam, download it, play, have great fun then I remember that the crux mechanic of this game is pressing "F."
Not a rant, just my thoughts...
Anyone agree?

I find only one thing that is boring: the insane number of hackers and their ♥♥♥♥ty aimbots...

It can get repetitive, but then again 90% of all online shooters have that mechanic, see CS/CoD/BF, all about pressing Mouse1 and the use button ;)

I honestly didnt see any hackers within the past week.

It may seem like it if youre new. You just have to invest some time into the game to get good, then you'll see theres barely any hackers.

You and I both know that's not true. :p

At least there is less hackers than before. F2P games tend to have issues with cheaters more than your average game as a much broader audience is reachable and there's no money risk involved if cheaters choose that path.

Typically yes, the missions are all go to x, defend/attack y, press z (f).

However, what makes the game stand out is just how customizable you can make yourself and your vehicles look and to try to make yourself standout from the crowd skill-wise and become "one of the knowns".

The missions in APB have always followed a single mission structure with a couple of different objectives. They're simple, boring fetch quests. APB feels repetitive because it's a shallow and frustrating game. I've never seen a game which makes people so incredibly angry. Why don't many people get bored of Battlefield or CoD? Because those games are fun, diverse and rewarding. APB is the complete opposite.

APB has some plain repetitive mission design. There needs to be more variety to the missions - escort VIP, bomb the target, assasinate NPC, cop/illegal racer chases ... so much opportunity for such a great, huge city.

I wonder if you're playing this game, or just ♥♥♥♥♥ing cause you had some issues with the developer in the past. No offence.

I've been playing this game a lot since Steam release and I haven't seen any hackers at all. I think most of the time it's just crying cause people don't like to lose, or they think someone has a wallhack since he sees them coming aroung corners, what's just an effect of 3rd person.

Maybe I'm just lucky to not have encountered any cheaters so far, but I really think it's not as big of a problem as generally assumed.

Have to agree, I've seen very few cheaters since the Steam release and the couple of weeks leading up to it. Yes, there was a cheating problem in the past, but the numbers have certainly fallen since. You'll never be 100% free of cheaters, but they've become MUCH less of an annoyance.

None taken.
I'm still in contact with top tier players...as in people swear they cheat they are so good so they know what they are doing, and just 2 days ago they ran into 3 blatant aimbotters. They know the difference between a hacker and a "happenstance".

Yes, there are still some botters, blatant and less so. You of all people should know that you can't ever get rid of 100% of them. Since the Steam launch, I've seen ~1-2 cheaters per day that I played, out of at least 100 different players per day. There's probably that amount again that are very subtle cheaters, which are essentially impossible to tell apart from great players without stuff we don't have. That's FAR better than the average of one every other mission a couple of months ago.

I know first hand that we have kulled around 90% of the cheaters, the ones that are left are repeat offenders that have a weird vendetta against the game.

Will be at work shortly and will begin my daily banhammer wave, taking out the guys that pb and our own anti-cheat system missed.

Regarding repetative missions - i agree : we are working on new mission types to try and spice things up somewhat, however due to the dynamic of apb, in general no 2 missions really play out the same way.

Mh ok if it's just aimbots, it's hard to tell if someone is really skilled or using a hack. Fittingly today I encountered someone using an aimbot (or at least I think he was using one). I didn't call him hacker or something since I was not sure about it and I don't like false accusations.

Is there an option to report someone if you think he is cheating?
