PC reboots while playing

Hi, i'm having an issue with LA noire where my PC always restarts in game. I couldn't even complete the first mission. I've never had this kind of issue with other games such as L4D2, Crysis 1,2,Warhead, GTA IV etc even at max settings.

Is this game too demanding for my system? Is it overheating issues? Hope someone could help. Else i'm really gonna regret buying this on PC. I won't be buying any console-ported PC game anymore esp. by R*.

Specs : Phenom II 955 BE, 4GB RAM, ATI HD 5850, Corsair HX1000.

Is this the first mission where you just became a detective and you go to that Woman's house?

If so, I'm having the same issues.

My PC just completely shuts off.

yup, the very first mission when u and dunn got a call to investigate abt someone whot got shot in the alley. so far i could only get to the gun store, then on the way to the apartment my pc just restart.

i've tried clean driver install, using command lines, remove overclock settings, updating windows. still the same. it's definitely not overheating as well coz my cpu and gpu temps were 48 and 60 while playing.

what is ur pc specs? i wish i could get a refund for this. or release a patch, though knowing rockstar i doubt they will.

Sounds to overheat.

Check the sound of your PC when playing.

Strictly is hard to get a PC reboot by error without having a blue screen before.

Now that happens but when is overheat or a serious hardware issue, since this only happens to you with LA NOIRE check for overheat.

I finally managed to pass that area my PC kept crashing on.

I just kept trying until it worked.

It worked for me on the 3rd try.

windows said it's a blue screen. i don't know if it's overheat. my cpu temp was below 50 and gpu below 60. i played metro 2033 which is more demanding with almost all settings maxed, my cpu n gpu temp were much higher but never had i face any reboot.

heh, good for u aqua snake. hopefully it won't occur again after that. i'm gonna try running it again later.

finally, got past that stage without bsod after applying fail-safe mode in bios. or mayb bcoz i took a different car instead of the police car to the apartment.
