http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?34009-We-cant-play-the-game-anymore-because-you-crutch-yourself-on-an-unreliable-source./page3

"Because most players don't have the disconnects. On average you can see 6-8k people playing all day consecutively on Steam. If even half of those 6-8k players were on Ranked(probably more than half) and played but got endless disconnects they would be posting on the forums as well."

If you want this issue fixed add your voice to this thread so they notice.

So far today i've been kicked 4 times, and THREE TIMES i've been kicked while NOT afk on survival mode between levels 18 and 24. It effects more people than they think.

Yesterday I was booted twice, losing all my progress, but that was because Steam went down at least twice yesterday.

It's like the worst form of always-on DRM ever, except you're at the mercy of TWO independent networks being up at the same time. If either goes down, your screwed!

You know those mods don't work for Trendy, right?

Disconnects on Trendynet is a problem on Trendys and perhaps Steams side..

Another possibility is your own connection especially when it comes to Survival, increased mobs and more people means an increased load on your connection, if your connection is lacking and cant handle everything thats going on itd be an issue with you and not Steam/Trendy.

And apparently Today Steams been having an UBER amount of problems in regards to Cloud and Friends.

I just have the game crash to desktop on survival. Usually when I am quite far into it conveniently. I sometimes get random disconnects also.

If this happens on Trendynet/Open with other people playing with you and not in Single Player(Local) it could be a problem with your system and or connection.

Not everything is Trendys/Steams fault.

Ive never had problems playing on Open, Survival or UMF with 8 people with me as the Host.
I dont play on Trendynet so i cant comment on that aspect.

Having a decent gaming PC and a good connection to go with it will yield less issues than a non proper setup.

Only thing you can do is test it, try on Trendynet, see if you d/c, try on Open and see if you d/c and Lastly try on Local and see if you d/c.

If you d/c on the 1st 2 and not Local then it would be a System/Connection specific issue having to do with you and not Steam nor Trendy.

Steam Friends has been going down quite a bit over the past few days, it's been down today off and on. That isn't a problem with our connections, that's a problem with Steam. Either Trendy needs to make it so you can resume when you get disconnected, or they need to shorten the length of Survival runs. Losing all your progress due to steam going down is getting very old, and will hurt the longevity of the game.

Is steam a form of DRM? Yes, however, I wouldn't call this a DRM problem. If Steam or Trendynet goes down you CAN still play offline. I mean it's a pretty obvious thing, if a server goes down you can't play online.

It's no different than the days BEFORE drm. If you were playing Counter-Strike and your server crashed or needed to be rebooted for maintence the game was unplayable on that server. If you were playing Warcraft III and battle.net was doing maintence you could still play the game but not access the server.

The problem of Steam or Trendynet going down isn't a DRM issue at all, it's completely independant of DRM.

If you are the Host you cant idle for to long, other wise you'll disconnect.

Apparently Trendy added an Anti Idle timer at some point.

But yeah, the Friends list and Cloud having issues lately will also cause disconnects.

Probably to keep players from clogging up the "Games" section with "AFK shops."

Dunno about that, but im refering to actually being on a Map.

Probably so people cant just sit around and let all the towers do the work.

You know those mods don't work for Trendy, right?

They're also more insular than Wikipedia Authors whom won't accept contradicting opinions / facts at all and will ban you / close your thread immediately for pointing out their flaws.

But... I liked building a bunch of towers, sitting back, and admiring my (er, my team's) work...:(

Same.

Ive only been disconnected twice, and both times i was hosting and idled for a few minutes.

Idle Disconnects suck.

Steam blames Trendy, Trendy blames Steam. Well, I blame both. DO NOT BUY this game. You will not be able to play. It keeps going down and down. I am considering not buying ANYTHING else on Steam that is not playable offline, because it is completly unstable.
