I remember it was 40 bucks at release which was summer 09 which was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much.

Game is still fun but two years later the first multiplayer game I played lagged like hell and crashed. Same thing happened two years ago when i first played. Sound and graphics and gameplay are still good and fun but jeeez fix the online issues fellas!

i joined up two 5v5 games rather quick but i did not see more than twenty this morning. it should pickup a bit by tonite once more people buy it but it won't be very active I'd say.

if they did a last stand mode like in DOW2 retribution this game would take off though.

ignore that post. steam listed 500 players just now so it is taking off a little bit for now.

Seems like steam revitalized the game some, I guess I'll buy it and try it. Seemed like a decent game few years ago. I hope the lagging issues aren't that bad.

The main problem with this game is the FTP competition such as LOL. Hope it does well based on its merits though.

I loved this game so much back when it started out. Played it in a LAN with a bunch of others. Was heartbroken when I found that it didn't have a large enough community to find a quick game.

Glad it is on Steam now. The game needed a larger audience.

I was blown away by Demigod suddenly appearing on Steam yesterday when I just randomly decided to browse the front page of the store.

The important thing now is for the devs to start supporting it with patches, both for bug fixes if any are necessary, balance fixes and new content (more demigods and maps).

If they do that, Demigod has a great chance at thriving, since it really is a great game that's really well made, is simple enough yet also complex enough at the same time to provide an engaging and entertaining experience.

Not too complicated, yet with plenty of variety to ensure it doesn't grow stale.

I particularly love the ability/talent trees. Also love the voice acting, for the Torchbearer especially, and how it synergizes so well with the gameplay: not too often, yet not too rare, and varied enough to not get stale.

Oh, and the characters' background stories are short but sweet:

I hope to hell they support this game now with better content. This game had SOOO much promise but it was lacking on release. 8 demigods on release with like maybe 12 maps? that was absolutely pitiful. I was pissed. They added two more heroes after a while but too little too late in my opinion. I stopped playing almost two years ago. I just hope more stuff is released for this soon. Does anyone know if there are plans for such?

I stopped playing Demigod years ago due to all of it's issues. When I saw it got onto steam I wondered if it had improved from the complete turd it was back then so I reinstalled. The game still has some of the worst net code ever.

At it's sale price it's worth a shot for those of you willing to brave the frustration of laggy matches and games not starting due to connectivity issues. The actual game is decently fun if you can get a non-lagging match started. I'm just warning you now that the net code doesn't seem to have improved much in the 2 years since it came out. Back then I tried to stick with it but after months of multiple patches, the game never got to a decent state. Maybe with all you new steam players the game will get more support but who knows.
