Steam refuses to launch Spellforce 2

So I installed spellforce 2. When I tell steam to launch the game, it does... absolutely nothing. It doesn't crash. It doesn't freeze. It just does absolutely nothing.

So how do I run the game?

Had that problem 2 days ago with an other game. At least i've set mit Anti Virus for 10 minutes out of work (with Avast you can set it off 10 min./ 1h + 2h). Game starts after that. So try it.

I have a similar problem, although it gives a Application could not start because 0xc00000005 which is a access violation, most of the fixes for the issue are to run without driver signing enabled, but with my system it blue screens with driver signing disabled before it can load windows. Although there was fix I came across for HOMM 5 by using the latest expansions dll's that worked it allowed the game to run correctly.

I got the game to run on a old laptop that runs vista 32 bit, and the cd key is invalid but at least it runs on something, I just hope the new Expansion pack has a lot of fixes and WORKS with 64bit Operating Systems natively.
