Ohh awesome! How's it been so far?
Well, let's just say I've become an addict. It's my very first smart phone and there is very little I dislike about it. Let me do a quick breakdown:
Pros::
*Lightning fast - never mind the so-so CPU. ICS is optimized for this device and it flies
*Superb screen, enough said
*ICS!!! Yes, it's incredible
*Very open phone. I have mine rooted already
*Android app market - much better quality of apps than I expected
*4G capability
*Very thin. It might be super long (135.5mm), but the thinness makes it look not oversized.
Cons::
*Camera (5mp) is very average. Many recent android phones have better ones (8mp, for example)
*The speakers' max volume is quite lacking. The speakers' audio quality also isn't too great. But I wouldn't know - every phones' speakers I've seen so far have been lackluster. I wonder what the HTC Rezound delivers
*Signal quality is supposed to be worse than, for example, a Motorola device like the Droid RAZR would deliver, but I personally don't care. Verizon has a good network and my phone calls are just fine. Meanwhile, although I've read extensively that the 4G speeds on the GNex are slower than, let's say on the Droid RAZR, I don't use 4G since I have wi-fi everywhere, and if I did have to use it, I would not care if I get 10+mpbs instead of 20mbps. Really, you don't need much more than 10mpbs for video.
*Battery drains fast, especially with 4G. Since I don't plan to use 4G much, I think I might be ok. Also, screen brightness, naturally, has a huge effect. By default, they made it very dim, quite excessively so, in order to conserve battery.
That's all I can think of for the moment. I have little buyer's remorse.

Not sure why I would be "2coolforcellphone",I thought the cool thing was to have the best phone?
I just have no need for a mobile, when I did have 1 I was spending a ♥♥♥♥ lot of money on it and in all honesty I have never missed it as I can make all my calls from home.
Also not sure how I could get stranded in the middle of no-where as I do not drive(yep get stuck into me on that 1 also)so would be hard to get stranded anywhere,at least alone.
I have a ZTE Blade running cyanogen mod. I love it, it's surprisingly fast and responsive for only having a 600mhz cpu.
The only complaint I have with it is the crappy camera.

Or.. maybe, you're making the lives of others more difficult? I can understand being annoyed at having to answer people's calls or text messages when you're busy, but phones have methods of dealing with these issues.
Also, just tell me this one - what would you do in a case of emergency? Oh wait, yea, that's right - find the first person with a cell phone.

Well, I don't know why you don't drive, but even if you took public transportation, a cell phone would still be useful. The only way your argument here would make sense is if you never leave your home.

Sounds great! Pros far outweigh the cons in my opinion. I think the 5mp camera would perform fine because its coupled with great software. My droid 3's 8mp camera is bad. It has trouble taking still shots because the software does all sorts of crazy things:(
One of my friends has a Motorola droid bionic and on speed test he constantly got 17mb/s on 4g in my area.
Yep battery on smartphones is pretty bad. I always have to charge my droid 3 at night (I can only use 3g and I have a extended battery) or else it would just be a paper weight the next day lol. If you work in a office I would suggest one of those wireless battery charging pads. Just plop your phone on the desk and it will keep charging itself.

That's actually quite true. The older cell phone often even have greater call quality. The thing about smart phones is that they're 'less phone, more computer'. I mean just consider how bad the iPhone call drop rates were in metropolitan areas. Sure, you could blame AT&T and you would be partly correct. But why people were ok with it all this time, before iPhones and other cool smart phones came to other, better carriers? Maybe because the phone part of a smart phone is expected to take a backseat for the computer part.

I have never had to ask anyone in 6 years for there mobile,I live in a small village where everything is basically on my doorstep,I have just lost my job but hopefully start a new 1 in the new year,so of course I leave for work, which again is only a short bike ride away(A very popular method of transport in Holland).
I have a 1 year old son so we do go out to the parks and for walks but again pretty much just around the village.

Smart phones have calling quality just as good as a older phone to me. I logged about 500 minutes last month on my droid and everything was crystal clear.
You cited the iphones call quality. I assume your thinking about the iphone 4s call quality issues right? The original iphone 4 had a bad antenna design where if you held it in a certain spot the antenna wouldnt work. The iphone 4s corrected that issue with a dual antenna system and I've never heard of android phones with problems like that.

Hmm.. well the 5mp camera really isn't so terrible, I guess. Here's a shot I took just now: http://i.imgur.com/26upO.jpg . I think it's really only bad in low-lighting conditions. But even there, maybe some settings exist which could improve them.
I'm thinking about the extended battery, but my annoyance is that I won't be able to charge a dead droid battery without having it in the smartphone. I wish this weren't so.

Well, the i4s issue was one thing. People putting up with a terrible AT&T networking is another. And yes, that's not a smartphone hardware or even software issue, but it's kind of the 3rd important component to a good call experience. If it's ignored, then clearly smartphone makers and buyers care more about the 'smart' part than the 'phone' part.
Moreover, like I said previously, certain manufacturers just have better hardware for calling and signal quality purposes, like Motorola, especially if compared to Samsung.

I'm saying that to my knowledge, there is no simple way to charge a battery for an Android phone without it being in the phone. So if one battery died and I swapped it for another, there would be no way to charge the first battery while I happily drain the second one, correct?

I have had the same cell-phone for nearly 10 years and it works great. However, I use it in the same way like you do.
When I'm home, it's on. When I'm not home, it's off because I'm busy and I don't want to be disturbed. I don't feel comfortable speaking my private matters in public either. In accidents/emergencies I turn the phone on.
Personally I find it very rude when people talk to their phones in queues in a way that it slows down the progress.
I also hate when people talk loudly to their phones in public as well, especially in public transportation. It's like they only think about themselves.

I used to have one and really didn't like being available at all times to every bored person I know. It's one of those things like facebook or myspace where it just eats up time for no good reason.
It's pretty amazing how a lot of people would be lost without their cell phones. I miss the old days where you had to pull over and use a pay phone if you were driving somewhere and needed to call someone.
Leaves me a lot of disposable income for other things - like PC games.

I've got a crappy, cheap Tracfone that I have to put minutes on, but it's good enough for me. I rarely use the cell phone, and I refuse to jump on the bandwagon and pay upwards of $100 a month for something I already have, just because it has web browsing and games, etc.. I already can do all that stuff on my PC. I don't travel a lot.
I'm more interested in the evolution of tablets.

*Dropbox
*Google voice (international calling is so cheap!)
*AdFree - modifies your hosts file to block ads
*A bunch of free games - they all suck. Well, Angry Birds is kinda of alright.
*Terminal emulator!
*VLC for Android - alpha.. so it doesn't really work
*Mangler - Ventrilo for Android
*Skype - I think I'll stick to google voice, but why not
*Yahoo/gmail/hotmail/facebook/reddit apps
*newspaper apps (al jazeera, the guardian, NPR, Onion News Network)
*Netflix!

*Newegg/Amazon app

I don't have a cell phone. Work from home and use a land line.
I used to have one and really didn't like being available at all times to every bored person I know. It's one of those things like facebook or myspace where it just eats up time for no good reason.
Leaves me a lot of disposable income for other things - like PC games.

The convenience factor is well worth it. The Netflix app for Android works surprisingly well. I guess they're smart enough to do a great job at it.

Pseudo-Luddite, I STILL have a flip phone and LOVE torturing my provider with that fact EVERYTIME they try to get me to buy a smartphone or up my service. "But with Friends and Family..." "Look, I DON'T have ANY friends and I DON'T have any family so I'm NOT interested!" "Yes I can see by your records you don't send or receive many calls." This was an ACTUAL communication between me and my provider. It was SO funny that I laughed when she said it and I seriously don't think she thought about what she was saying, she was just drilling on with her schpeel. Touche'!

Nokia Xpressmusic 5530
I've had it around 2 years. It works fine (and I barely use my phone!) so I see no need to upgrade to a new phone.

Galaxy S2. Awesome phone.
Unfortunately, while the phone itself is great, Samsung Kies - the software used to sync to the PC and update the firmware - is a useless pile of manure. It refuses to connect to my phone and after looking on google it looks like a widespread problem.

HTC Inspire "4G" on AT&T, got sick of how poorly the iPhone actually worked as a phone. I may get the 5 when it's released (and switch to Sprint or Verizon).

I actually have two, I use my LG Optimus 7 as my main phone and my Huawei Ideos X5 in the car and playing around with custom ROMs and kernels.
Windows Phone 7 is awesome. My LG has the same specs as an HTC Desire but it's 10x smoother.

The free one that came with my contract a few years back. It doesn't have a touch screen, I can't get on the Internet with it, and I can't text with it. I just use it to make phone calls... well, I also use the alarm clock to help wake me up in the morning.
