Was playing a couple hours straight yesterday with no problems.
Now a couple mins (maybe 3 max) after launching the game Max gets stuck running forward. No other keys work. (mouse works fine).
Only keys that respond are escape to get back to menu, and steam overlay :/
Anyone with a solution would be much appreciated.

I'm assuming you've tried unplugging your keyboard (if it's a USB type) and plugging it back in. Resetting your system.
I've had this happen on lots of games, and usually ESCaping to the game's menu, then going back in the game works. Sometimes spamming WASD a lot, jumping around, ESCaping combinations work. Other times, closing the game out and either restarting it, or restarting the entire system fixed it. Fortunately, it never persisted long, and only occasionally crops up in different games.
Are you using a macro-capable keyboard (gaming type, requires separate drivers?), might want to check drivers/update/reinstall those. If standard keyboard, there's not much else to do on that line of troubleshooting.
Sometimes it's something as simple as a keybinding (.ini ?) file getting corrupted, but finding out what the setting is that needs fixing is almost impossible. So...
Maybe reinstall the game, too, as a last resort, and not just "Verify game cache files", as that produces positive results less than a third of the time. I recommend dumping your Max Payne files by "Deleting local content" then redownloading the game. Sometimes, I'll also delete the .gcf files and manually delete the directory of a game that's acting up.
Hope something in all that rambling helps.

Thanks for the help, hadn't restarted my pc since over night and that fixed it.
