I'm playing the latest version and the bug is still there. How many YEARS has this game been out? Aren't you meant to get bugs ironed out in Beta?

I'm actually using a 2 week old computer running windows 7 with clean installs of everything and fully updated drivers.
If a game that supposedly supports windows 7 doesn't work on my rig it's just not good enough in this day and age.

You guys need a chill a tad. I can understand it would be frustrating to have a new game and the tutorial crashes.. but this game has been stable and flawless until this sale. It's obviously to do with getting this sale achievement going. Something they missed, that they will fix.
If as someone else said, setting your clock back lets you do the tutorial.. then set it back, do the tutorial, and then set it back to proper date again. Big deal. If it get's you past the bug, what's the problem?
I'm sure they will fix it. This game has, as I said, been very stable and good all the time it's been out. You guys are being very melodramatic and using too much hyperbole.. exaggerating it into some big ripoff and disgrace.
It's just a bug. On a game you probably paid $2.50 for. It's damn holiday season. The programmers are probably home with their families. Where is your Christmas spirit, and a little patience?
You've been presented a solution. Either use it, or don't. But please stop complaining in a manner that comes off as sense of entitlement.

There is a sense of entitlement because if you pay money for a game you are entitled to a working copy of that game. Same with goes with any product, that's why warranties exist.

yeah complaining that someone has a 'sense of entitlement' goes out the window when they are indeed entitled to something. it does not take long for the devs to come online and give an official statement. and its not like they haven't kept up with this game - after all they had to update it to support santa. they could take 20 minutes at home. but, what do i know, i got the game during a humble bundle sale
when people complain about not getting enough random hat drops in tf2, that is a valid complaint about said people feeling too entitled. when someone pays money for something, especially something that has been promoted as such (it doesnt take a rocket(ICBM HAHA ITS A PUN!) scientist to know that the steam special was going to dramatically increase their sales) - any normal person would check in and make sure it was going smoothly.
people are right to be mad.

Full ACK.
Dev's (non-)behaviour didn't help their reputation at all. Embarrassing.

You're still missing the point.
Also if you yell at the dude making your burger they will probably spit in it. What are the devs going to do? Retaliate to my saying the game doesn't work properly by releasing a patch to break it more?

LOL.
You missed the point. He's not suggesting you are yelling in the face of the defcon employees, and that it could backfire on you.
He's saying he can judge from your demeanor that you are someone who probably yells at minimum wage workers for messing up your order. In short, he's accusing you of being a impatient, irrational jerk.
I'm sorry I had kept my sub to this thread. What a waste of time. Enjoy your rage.

No one expects minimum wage workers to care about their job. I absolutley expect devs to take pride in their work and release functinoal games. It's not a job you just get for an income it's a career - no excuse for not doing that job properly.

Good news, the tutorial and the rest of the game works fine now. Actually, it has for some time while you were still going on like this in the forums, so you can go play now. It had to do with the santa achievement, so after the holiday sale ended, Santa went bye bye and the bug ended.
I know your mouth has been salivating (possibly foaming) for this tutorial, so go enjoy it. I'm not sure it will meet up to the vaunted expectations you have for it, but I hope you attain some degree of joyous rapture from the tutorial.
