+1 vote for ut2k4, and yes, people still play. might as well get the unreal pack for $10, but you can get only ut2k4 if you like.

ut2k4 has a lot of mods for it, so it's like tf2 in it's player made mod customization.

Hellz yes it is. Best Unreal game. One of the best multiplayer FPSes ever made.
