I´m a bit reluctant to purchase the new version, since I don´t feel that I´m done with the first one and don´t want to pile up my Steam account with obsolete games because of Valves reluctance to improve the library. But if there was an upgrade to purchase that replaced the first version with the upgraded one, I would purchase it immediately.

same here, +1
as i think "Aaaaaaaaa! for the awesome" should not be released at all. it would be better to update "Aaaa Reckless disregard for gravity" for free (as Valve did with HL2 or Popcap with "Plants vs Zombies") and sell additional levels as dlc.
But what's done is done.

When Valve updated HL2 it was with stuff they already had 95% pre-done.
With this they probably weren't starting from scratch but close enough and they probably had to pay quite a bit of money (or small rodents) to Owlchemy Labs for their work in the development.
In the end, this new engine is more than likely, going to allow them to do a lot more than they could have with the old one.

Not all is lost in terms of upgrading. You can import your save from Reckless to Awesome so that your progress transfers.

Still a little slap in the face that you didn't add the achievement into the original.

Yes, but that will leave me with an obsolete game, Reckless, in my Steam library. I would have liked an option to purchase a license/dlc to replaced Reckless with Awesome in my Steam library.

If you played FTA, you'll see there is a separate interface for DLCs, not just a button slapped into it. Also there are multiple levels. It just doesn't work like that.

Not so simple to have a "DLC" since For the Awesome is written on a totally different engine.

I´m not saying that it is easy either, I´m just stating what I would want.
