Hey, I really liked the first AAaaAAaa(etc), and was excited to get this. However, I've got a problem. When im in the game, my mouse just constantly tries to go up. Its unplayable because of this, and I cant figure out why. I haven;t modified any settings at all, and I've tried launching it multiple times after restarting, mouse drivers, etc.

Has anyone else had this issue and can anyone else figure out how to fix it?

Thanks

I'm having the same issue, more or less. The difference is mine moves to the left. Makes the game too frustrating to play.

Do you have joypad plugged in? That caused mouse problems for me in some games...

No =/

Right - It might be a joystick. However, I cant unbind things in the config options, and unplugging the device (a G13 - It has a Joystick Mode) didnt work either.

It`s not related to the joypad; at least for me.
My mouse is constantly trying to go to the left. Even while i`m not touching anything. I don`t have anything plugged in, even usb!

1.) Unplug all USB (or otherwise) input devices from your computer. Quit Awesome.
2.) Plug in only the mouse. If the mouse cursor begins moving up the screen miraculously, then throw out your mouse. If the mouse is acting normally, launch the game and if the problem is now gone, one of the input devices you had previously plugged in was causing this slight upward movement.

In addition:
You mentioned not being able to un-bind an input. You can double click on a listing in the Input dialog and then set it to something obscure like an F-Key or a number pad number that you'll never use in-game. That effectively un-binds it.

EDIT: Unbinding cant be done on an "axis" like i mentioned above. You can plug in a joypad and pick a different axis, but that kinda stinks. We're looking into it.

The thing is: i also have the older aaaa reckless disregard for the gravity game and i`m able to play it flawlessly.

1.) Unplug all USB (or otherwise) input devices from your computer.
2.) Plug in only the mouse. If the mouse moves up right now, and Awesome is not open, you have a broken mouse. If the mouse is normal and you launch the game and the 'mouse moving up' problem is gone, then one of the input devices you had plugged in was causing this slight upward movement.

In addition:
You mentioned not being able to un-bind an input. You can double click on a listing in the Input dialog and then set it to something obscure like an F-Key or a number pad number that you'll never use in-game. That effectively un-binds it.

I did all the steps you mentioned but nothing changed...

Tried it all, and nothing.
Also, the first aaaaaa works fine for me.
Also also, my mouse is brand new for christmas, and even my old mouse does the same.

I don't think its my mouse.
Also, I cant bind joypad controls to buttons, it has to be on an axis

bump `till they resolve this!

Hmm, the game seems to support a controller but the "mouse" still moves to the left with or without it plugged in. Also, if I move the mouse to different parts of the screen, it may move up or down. Either way, it never stands still. This is definitely a bug in the game not with our input devices.

> BUMP OMG!

We're working on it, fear not. :)

I've talked to Owlchemy about this, and we have some thoughts on a fix. If you guys haven't already, send a DxDiag dump to us at support@dejobaan, and we'll gather data.

K i`m not fearing but i/we need this before new year; there is steam achievment you know...

BattaL

Or at least upload the achievment to us somehow.

I'm almost certain this has to do with something else plugged into your system. Gamepad, joystick, driving wheel, even trackpads, some keyboards with thumbballs.

When I tried to use my Xbox controller with the game, I had this exact effect.

When the wireless controller was live, I'd get the cursor moving on it's own in the game, because the joysticks are giving some small input even when centered.

If you can't seem to find anything plugged in, go to the Device Manager and look there for something that should not be there.

BattaL> K i`m not fearing but i/we need this before new year; there is steam achievment you know...

Yup. If you can send your DxDiag dump to us, we'll check it out. Also check out arfWignack's thought:

aW> If you can't seem to find anything plugged in, go to the Device Manager and look there for something that should not be there.

Also: If you haven't tried from a fresh boot, give it a go.

Also i discovered a usb head for my mouse. It can be plugged in to a normal mouse jack or into a usb jack. I was getting the problem while it was in the normal jack, without the usb head. Afterwards i tried to plug my mouse into the usb jack, hoping that it might solve the problem but it didn`t. Just for your consideration.

Thank, BattaL. Try disabling the VJoy Virtual Joystick (such that it doesn't appear in the DxDiag dump) and let me know if that helps?

How to disable it?

How to disable it?

Uninstall it is easiest, do you use it for anything? It's pretty likely this is causing the problem, as it acts like a joystick.

You can temporarily disable it by going to Start menu, type in Device Manager, then in there look for the either the Mice and other pointing devices, or maybe the Sound, video, game controllers section.

Find the Virtual Joystick device, and right click on it, and choose disable.

I had a joystick plugged in. I had to remove it and use the mouse only.

The pojter stopped moving right on its own after that.

But now I can't try the game with joystick. I was looking forward to it.

Mith, it sounds like the joystick is reporting back off-center -- recalibrating may help. I haven't tried this myself, but: try this link (http://www.overclock.net/t/617993/how-do-i-calibrate-a-joystick-on-my-new-os) for more if you're on Windows 7, or this one (http://disneyinteractivestudios.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/889/~/general-troubleshooting---gamepad-and-controller-issues-(windows-98%2Fme%2Fxp%2Fvista)) otherwise.

I think that a lot of people have gamepads in which the actual stick doesn't ever fully rest at the origin. When using that calibration program with my two xbox 360 controllers, it seems to rest at different locations. Perhaps you could make the sensitivity on the menus be binary left/right/up/down for controller input?
