Steam guard will not let me log into my account on my computer. I had to do a full reinstall of the OS and steam guard does not allow login without code. When it says enter code, it makes reference to my old email instead of my new one that is associated with my account. I contacted support yesterday morning but have not recieved a answer. Is there a way to get this resolved so I can use the products I paid for or do I have to wait until steam gets to my support request.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I thought the message that came up said that they're "sending a message to the email address associated with this account".
I don't remember it mentioning anything else about my email, like an address.
Where are you seeing a referance to an email address you don't believe is associated with your account?

Wait for Support. The issue might be that you did not verify your new email. Make sure you check that. Just remember to do that after your issues are fixed via support.

Don't blame them if you neglected to update your e-mail address!

Yeah, contact support.

First, you're the one that changed email addresses without updating steam with your latest info.
Second, you don't need to use steam guard at all. I certainly think it better if you do, but extra security almost always comes at some inconvenience (think of the scanners at airports or UAC in windows).
Don't get snippy about not being able to "play the products you paid for". It's your fault you can't login, and so ought to be tolerant of the fact that it'll be a few days for support to restore things to working condition for you.

Did you read the OP?
...instead of my new one that is associated with my account

I did update the account and I did verify the email. Thanks for the help.

Completely unnecessary. Why are you attacking him?

You might as well get some proof of account ownership ready. This is a lost cause if you have no proof.
If you have no physical games and all of your receipts went to a non-existent email and you can't access your account, I'm afraid you might have some troubles getting this account back.
Next time, make sure you update your information.

Account ownership? So you are saying I will not be able to download what I have already paid for?

Did you read the OP?
Clearly the new addy is not associated with his new account properly if steam is sending the authorization emails to his old addy.

It's not an attack. It's a reminder that this is not something he is in a position to blame steam for. In addition, I don't know what he wants from us. He clearly wants a "faster" way to login to his account than to contact support. If such a "way around" steamguard existed, it would be a severe security problem that would undermine the point of steam guard to begin with. You don't have access to the email addy you registered with? Well, neither would the attacker. That's the point.
Useless thread, whiny OP, dunno what you expect. Contact support; the rest of us can't help you, and that's all there is to it.

Well the OP clearly asks a specific question, wait for support seems to be the correct answer. However Sly, I fully understand your need to feel that you are the authority of the internet world. Heck I bet you feel all mighty and powerful sitting at your keyboard typing your rhetoric and pounding your chest thinking everyone is bowing down to your wisdom. Here is a thought, answer the question without the extra crap. The original question was do I have to wait for support. Answer should be one of the the following, yes, wait for support / no, here is a work around. Is that so hard?

Please don't call me "Sly". It's rude to abbreviate other people's handle's like that, kind like calling someone "Bill" who introduces themselves as "William".

That's a naive thought you have there. If the OP asks if they should afix a nail to the wall with a shoe or a broken bottle, do you "just answer the specific question without the extra crap" or do you tell him "neither, you use a hammer". Sometimes you ought look beyond what specifically is being asked. Sometimes the "extra crap" is pretty relevant.
If OP tries to blame steam for something that is his fault, you remind him the system is operating as expected and that the problem is user error.

The only rude person here is you. The OP already stated he verified his e-mail address. Steam Guard is known to have issues, especially around times with high server load. That's why it is completely unnecessary for your comments, because you are stating that the user is completely to blame and that the software is flawless. Complete naivety on your part.

I politely disagree.

Account ownership? So you are saying I will not be able to download what I have already paid for?
I have the same problem and have been told over and over again by support the same thing: "We have reset your password - please log in and change it"
EXCEPT STEAMGUARD WILL ALLOW ME NO FURTHER.
As far as I can tell, unless I can fully log into Steam, there is no way to turn Steamguard off and all of my purchases are lost. I have already provided proof of ownership as well.

Sly, you really should chill. He asked a question. Acting like you know everything doesn't mean you actually do.
