Game wont startup

Not for me, but for a friend. Can you help?

Hes from Germany, so I gifted the game to him. It got downloaded, but the game just wont startup at all for him.

He have latest direct x files, and all other drivers. He tryed running steam and the game in administrator mode. He also tryed chaning the "En" to "en"
Still no luck. ANd he says he doesnt have the .exe file

Is this because the game is banned in Germany, so they removed the .exe file and prevenetd the game from launching, if you're from Germany?

No, it's his anti-virus that's deleting or quarantining the executable.

Add it as an exception so the anti-virus ignores it.

It wasnt that. He disabled his anti virus and redownloaded it. But it still doesnt work.

If the game's executable keeps being removed, there's nothing else it can be but anti-virus.

It's also a known issue with this game.

An issue, thats too kind of a word. He have now redownloaded the game 3 times, and its still the same.

Out of curiosity, is your friend using AVAST?

If he is, try disabling Sanbox.

Problem solved....the hard way.

I took all my own dead island files, and moved it to a private ftp server. Then he download'em all. And now he can finally play.
