Dear Valve,
I realize you have to restrict the trading forums. I will admit right now though, I think you got it wrong. I understand you don't need people spamming threads, but at what cost to us, the traders? We can post one thread every 24 hours. I just don't understand. I was big on steam trading before, but now that I can post 1 thread every 24 hours, there's just not much I can do. It is very annoying, and I wish you would consider giving us a little break so we can do some trading again.

Your's truly, Scorch.

1 thread helps keep the spam down. The trading forum had the 1 thread limit for the longest time; the restriction was temporarily disabled and the forum was flooded. So it will remain at 1 thread per day for now, and we'll monitor how it works out.

I might sound silly here, but have you considered recycling your thread? Delete whatever you post in the OP and edit it into a new thread.

Re use it, if you need to. Also, I think the title should be directed towards the moderators here, not Valve themselves.

The thing is with that is after X amount of time or edits of the title you can't edit the title anymore. And the thread looks clumsy and trashy when you say "ignore the below, I recycled the thread".

Hopefully trading markets will be integrated into the Steam client soon so that we don't have to rely on such an unorganized mess that the forums can be. Or, we could have a "For Trade" tab on our inventory, along with the trader's preferred offer stated on each item. That way, each member would get their own "stand" in the market, and by going through the client instead of the forums, along with a good search engine added, it's relatively easy to find the deal you are looking for, or something that's similar.

Ah yes. That too :/

I do hope it will get fixed eventually. Some people might get the wrong idea that you use a misleading title to lure in customers.

@Aeoxs: Excellent idea. Although, I doubt it will get implemented soon. What's with Valve's time and all.

I think what you guys need its more sections maybe? that will help other users to ubicate easily. for example list all the games that are availiable, and then when you click them, list all the games people are requesting (cause you know what causes spam is those threas of "have games want games" omg thats so annoying imo). Like when you want to post a game to trade, you just show a list of the games availiable and if you want to trade a game add the game to the list and place a game in return.

OR implement a trading store? idk, but a forum its just a mess imo.

Mod's/Admins, one suggestion:

Please, create subforums. Could be something like:

Coupon Offers
Coupons Wanted
Game Offers
Games Wanted
TF2 Subforum
Portal 2 Subforum

Or anything like that. Limit 1 thread per forum per day, we're good.

Weren't several people banished to timeout for editing threads during the Xmas promotion? I'm not sure if the mods here actually see a difference between recycling and bumping.

What about a designated trading thread in each game's subforum? That way, you only use the trading forum when you've got multiple things you're trading away or are trying to get.

Issue with that is when threads get stupidly long, people won't wade through hundreds of pages looking for things. Then you'll get thread spamming because people won't like their post disappearing into the old pages, anymore than they like the current system.

Can't see a problem with this idea, but then I'm pretty organised as a person and will take the trouble to find the right forum.

However, many people won't given most of them don't even see the Stickie rules until they get warned or temp-banned. It's been tabled before by people, and I think it's worth a try though. Like everything else, maybe with time people will get used to it.
