It would be pretty awesome if the holiday sale had an apocolypse theme to it.

Games that would go on sale:

Fallout series
Defcon: Everyone dies
RAGE
The Wonderful end of the world
Fate of the World
Dreamfall
Post apocalyptic mayhem
Demolition inc
Metro 2033
Wasteland
Midwinter
Half Life series
Beneath a Steel Sky
Deus Ex games
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
Resistance: Fall of Man

etc.

Post what you think and what games would also go on sale and maybe we can get a huge list going.

It's time for a fallout goty anyways, so this would be a nice opportunity.

STALKER series

Stalker isn't really an end of the world scenario though. Just a really messed up part of the normal world.

Didn't steam do "Near Miss" sale with RAGE for that asteroid that missed us by a million miles?

if there was a doomsday, i would like diablo 3 to be released now and to be 75% off.

Steam did a sale on RAGE because of the meteor that passed by Earth a few months ago. We just might see something like this.

That wasn't the end of the world, just a bunch of zombies running around shouting "braaaiiinnnnss".

To be fair, the rest of the game library would be pretty boring if the world had ended and nothing was left, besides, zombie apocalypse totally counts.

Exactly, but this only effected Eastern US.

There Isn't going to be a DOOMSDAY!!.. It happened in "2000, 1999, 2008, 2006, 2002, and 2011..", But.. a Maya Calenda End would be a nice sale.

Well, it would be a good release date for DOOM 4.

Don't forget the Assassin's Creed games. The meta-story is that they're building to the 2012 event.

Borderlands could fit in there nicely :D

Borderlands isn't exactly about an apocalypse. It's more about a team of 4 peoples who decided to go to a harsh planet in hopes of finding epic loot.

Half-Life franchise.

Maybe 21st December, 2012 is the date of the Resonance Cascade?

And if you add up all of those numbers you get 12,026. The first two digits just happen to be 12, meaning December. The last three digits are 026, which if you subtract 5, now becomes 021. According to Dexter here, the end of the world will be December 21, 2012! You're theory just matched the Mayan Calendar! We're dooooooomed!

L4D zombies just punch you, nothing serious. Although, some Dawn of them dead zombies would make me do a knife to throat.

Imagine this:
21 December 2012 - every hour the sales change, each one giving us some of these games for 0.01 $/€/...
It's Doomsday, isn't it?

Ya um, I do hope you and others realize that the Mayan calendar does not "end" on Dec 21st 2012.

That's when it simply transitions from the 13th baktun, and the beginning of the 14th baktun.

This is an important point, because too many Mayan doomsday believers really believe that somehow their calendar actually ends on that date, and that this caused the current doomsday theories.

But it's true. What is happening on that date is no different than what happens for us every December 31st. It's just the start of a new year. They measure "long cycles" in baktuns which are a period of length of like 400 years.

The calendar does not "end". It never ends.

I think it'd be absurd. The anniversary of the invention of the toilet is a greater holiday than the frequent doomsday predictions. Yet we don't get one for that.
