View Full Version : Vote: New Stat Ideas (Not New Weapons)

You know the drill.
Every day you can vote for one stat from the list. These stat are new frontiers for pros and cons (like how FJ introuced revnege crit stat, and Axtinguisher introduced crits on flaming target.)
You can only vote for a stat once, and you can only vote once per day. Feel free, of course to sumbit you own ideas.
Upside 1: Hold M1: Control grenade fuse time/how long it takes grenades to explode on indirect hits (1)
Upside 2: + Bonus (Speed, Weapon Switch) if user has yet to lay out grenades/stickies (1)
Downside 1: -Damage done against faster enemies (Pyros, Medics, Engies, Snipers, Spies, Scout) (0)

To start off, here are my stat ideas:
Hold M1: Control grenade fuse time/how long it takes grenades to explode on indirect hits
The longer you hold M1, the longer the fuse. Gives Demos more control, at the expense of convienence.
+ Bonus (Speed, Weapon Switch) if user has yet to lay out grenades/stickies
In other words, you get a bonus if you haven't laid traps yet, and if no greandes have been launched. Descourages spamming without punishing laying traps/using your grenades.
-Damage done against faster enemies (Pyros, Medics, Engies, Snipers, Spies, Scout)
Greandes work best against Heavies, Sollies, and other Demos.

The only logical one is #1, the others don't really make much sense...

Bonus #2 is to give Demos a competitive edge BEFORE combat. Speed lets him get to the frontlines faster without breaking him, or weapon switch to let him make snap desicions during the first few seconds of battle.
Downside #1 is to make the Demo still work on bulkyier classes, while making faster classes (make to counter him) more viable.
It's GREAT to hear opinions, though. That's why this thread is here.

I understand that, It's just that it really doesn't make sense. Why do grenades and stickies effect speed? this completely acts as a buff for demo-knights which the community frowns upon.

In that case, we could maybe add in something that reduces sheild-charge duration (like by a whopping 75%), or increases time to recharge charge.
The reason downsides and upsides aren't matched together is becuase this is a thread to test stats, not weps. For example, most people HATED the stats of slowdown on hit (Natachsa), stun (Sandman), and fire immunity (Spy-cicle). This is just a thread to see which stats are viable should they get appropriate counterparts.
