I didn't see any mention of these being episodic until I started listening to the commentary track.

I just finished the first one, and it only took me 3 hours according to Steam, which ties it with the shortest Sam & Max episode for me.

The game itself was great, and I'm not angry or anything (got the trilogy in the Indie Royale bundle), but I think the fact that each of these is an episode instead of a full length game like one of the Broken Sword titles should be mentioned on the game pages.

Unless the later games are significantly longer?

i've only finished the first 2 and they are similar in length. steam says legacy took 3 hours and unbound took 2.

i think the reason they might hesitate to call them episodes is because they are already pretty cheap, and as you said, you aren't angry at them being short because they are great games. calling them episodes will draw attention to their length and turn away customers who might consider game length to be important, even if the game is great and reasonably priced for what you do get.

Well, reviews are everything people need to know the games are great, and these being actual episodes makes it seem dishonest to not mention it on the game page.

They aren't episode, they're just not very long...

If you listen to the Main Menu commentary of Legacy, he says explicitly that he wanted to make the games in an episodic format, with each episode being a different case.

Edit: Well, just read in a review that the fourth game, Deception, is "considerably larger" than the previous ones, so I guess I'll pick it up now rather than waiting for a larger sale :)
