Been playing through the AOE3 campaign since it arrived to steam. Blood, Ice and Steel works fine, so does the Fire and Shadow campaign. However, the third mission in the Japanese campaign (Clearing the Road) makes the game crash instantly. One of those Windows error messages pops up, saying this in the details:

Please don't tell me I have wasted 25 hours to get to this point. And please don't tell me that just because I have win7 64-bit, there is no solution... The whole campaign worked until this mission =(

Hi there, i think i can help you.

One File is buggy age3yjc3.age3Yscn "Clear the Roads Script"

"age3y"(asian dynasty)"jc"(japan campain)"3"(third level)

I had the same problem and i sloved it as follows.

1st close the game if it is open

then go to the installation folder in steam

Drive:\Steam\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires 3\bin\Campaign\Wonders

double click on age3yjc3.age3Yscn and select open whith

Drive:\Steam\steamapps\common\Age Of Empires 3\bin\age3y.exe

the Game will start and after the intro it loads the scenarion

whithout any errors or crashes

Finaly close the game and start it normal whith steam

you will see after that it works perfect.

I don´t know what the point is whith this error but this is the way i solved it.

Sorry for my english but i am german and my school days ar long ago ;-)
