I've been searching around and I can't seem to find it mentioned anywhere what sort of RPG this is so I figured I'd ask here.

Is this going to be like a BioWare RPG or a Bethesda RPG where you talk with characters and make different dialogue choices that can change how the story progresses or is this going to be like a Fable game where you go on quests and stuff but you never really interact with the characters in a meaningful way?

Also will my character have a voice or will they be silent?

It's a combination of Fable,Elder Scrolls and WOW and your character is silent.

So you just listen to quest dialogue/scroll through quest text, hit accept and then go off and do what ever it is the quest says (kill 10 boars or something)? Or am I misunderstanding you?

You say it's like Elder Scrolls which would mean I can have conversations with NPCs, ask them questions, respond to them in different ways and stuff yet you also say it's like Fable where you just listen to the quest giver say his lines and don't talk with him at all and also like WoW where you just read the quest and hit accept.

I have trouble imagining a combination of these systems. Either the quests are voiced or they're not and you can either talk to NPCs, even if your character isn't voiced, or you can't. Which is it?

You talk to npcs but your character's words are only text, they aren't voiced. There are persuasion checks (maybe more like intimidate?) so there is a bit of variety to the conversations. It's old school, kind of like Dragon Age: Origins if you're familiar with that game.

the fact that is unvoiced seemed bad to me then i rmembered how much time accepting quests took in swtor and decided i was okay with it

What i meant was that the combat system is like Fable,it is open world, you can explore, talk to people and do other stuff(crafting, alchemy etc)like Skyrim and the art style, the way the world is created and the enemies is like WOW.

I suggest you to play the demo and see for yourself.

THis game is nothing like DA:O or even DA:2. the best way to actually describe it is World of warcraft (Art style and lore) crossed with God of War (combat) with a directed world design. Its not open world like TES or WoW or Just Cause 2 but its not linear like say CoD nor is like DA:O or Fable in a series of small maps that require a load screen.

It will keep pushing you forward to new areas but those areas are free to be explored and rather large. from the demo the 2 areas that your able to roam around in id say are about the size of Westfall and Ellwyn Forrest from world of warcraft. The only time you should see a load screen is when you enter a dungeon or building just like a typical elder scrolls

I know. I was talking about the silent player character. Old school as in no character voice.

I don't recall that being in Elder Scrolls games with any significance.

Have they said anything about dialogue choices? I noticed when you're leaving the first area that you get two choices along the lines of:

"they didn't *sob* make it"

and

"I dunno I killed everyone lolol"

Then there's that big blue blob that appears in the bottom right corner whenever someone is talking looks suspiciously like a good/bad meter...

There is no Karma Bar in this game. You do get black and white choices later for some NPCs. Like there is a gnome you find out who was selling information on the Soul Well. You can choose to blackmail him, let him go, or outright kill him. You also get persuasion checks as well. Your typical classic RPG options.

I would categorize this game as an Action RPG. I would say that it feels like a mix between a free to play mmorpg and Fable. Comparable to Fable for the colorful fantasy world with cutesy childlike characters and comparable to a free MMORPG in the way the combat, camera and character movement is. Similar games would be Dungeon Siege III, Two Worlds, Arcania. This is nothing like Skyrim, The Witcher, or Dragon Age.

Actually it's fairly similar to Witcher in the on-rails world design.

The dialogue options are hilariously simple, they make it look like your character can not speak in sentences with more than three words in them.

well, he did die and brain damage occurs 3 minutes after breathing stops so I'd say he's doing pretty well for guy with a damaged frontal lobe.

Yea, KoA has a bit more wide open spaces, but is similar to witchers' on-rails world design.
