as in title...
and nary a fix from Square Enix?
would rather just not have these
on foot missions to begin with,
they're very weak and probably
should have been cut... poor pro-
duction choice in my opinion.

I agree?
I'm not sure what you're getting at though since your post reads more like an excerpt from a diary, or a tweet for those in generation Y. Did you just come here to vent, or did you have a question? I'm sorry if that sounded rude. I mean no offense. :)
I've found that turning down the sensitivity for the controller (if you're using it, that is) helps a lot with aiming. Other than that, run like hell and use the rocket launcher. There's no shortage of ammo so it's just easier to play it more like Unreal Tournament than a cover shooter. Standing still out in the open is a good way to die.
But yeah, they could have done more work on it, but they didn't, and there's a 99.999999...% chance (Note: not a real estimation) they won't be patching it. It totally threw me off guard too when the cut scene ended and I saw I was out of my wanzer, so you're definitely not alone there. :)

I'm having problems on the first foot mission with CTD's. I've verified the cache, I'll go ahead and delete all files and reinstall next, but I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this, and if there's a way around it.
It leaves this in the event log:
Faulting application name: FrontMissionEvolved.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x4cc5bf8e
Faulting module name: FrontMissionEvolved.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x4cc5bf8e

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I bought it because there are very few mech games on PC and it was a big mistake. I can't get past the first foot mission. It crashes every time. I asked for a refund because of this, even though I wasn't expecting to get one, and I didn't. Huge waste of money.
