Rayman Origins PC, please! + (idea)

I want to play Rayman Origins, but now the PC port has been cancelled. :(
I have an idea so it could have a lot more sales than the console ports. Release RO for PC here on steam and make it at a discount with Raving Rabbids in a pack. Even better, give RR for free with the purchase of RO for a limited time.
Ubisoft, why don't you take advantage of the popularity of them Rabbids so you can sell RO? Most people are unaware of it, but everybody loves steam discounts.
Besides, I won't be getting a 3DS or PSVITA.

i want the demo lol and cant get it. Says its needs to convert to a more effcient format then fails due to no subscriptions. WTF what subscription all it says is to convert it needs time and net conn. nothing about a sub. Shame really the game is awesome.

Chill, guys. It says "No subscription" or something like that when I tried to launch it. I don't think they downloaded anything. It's an error, and I'm sure they'll fix it.

Just co-op listed usually means online. Wait for confirmation, though, because Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime listed Co-op and Local Co-op, but ONLY had local Co-op. After customers made a stink, Steam removed the "Co-op" and had to issue a few refunds.

I saw this too, it doesn't seem like steam downloaded anything onto your computer. If it did it wasn't the full demo. Also it can't be deleted but perhaps deleting the files manually will work...

From what I can tell is this is some big glitch on steam, not an elaborate way to advertise Rayman Origins. Steam is a huge app used by millions, at once. It's never a matter of if things like this will happen but when and how much it will effect the costumer. They usually do a good job at getting it fixed quickly and allowing us to keep playing games in the mean time.

If I try to launch it then it downloads around 750 MB to my system (good thing I don't pay per MB...) and then delete local content only removes that 750 MB again, but leaves part of it in my library which attempts to download it again... I heard this was a good game, but if I want to try it let me do it on my own, don't force this junk on my hard drive... And what about people who live where they pay per MB? Steam just cost them quite a bit o dosh.

It didn't cost them anything if it didn't actually download anything, and if it's just showing up as a listing. Give them time to fix it before you freak.

It said 0 on mine, and I have no log of a download in my download history. Now that I tried to launch it, and told it to update, it says it's using 843MB. Maybe mine was different.

Did you check the actual folder. I did and nothing was actually downloaded. I got the same 16MB install size and in fact it still shows that after I deleted the folder. It is a bug.

The game only downloads when you try to run it. It will give you a weird prompt asking you to convert to the new steam patching system and then download the full game.

Ah perhaps, because when I first had it on my machine I had 16 MB (I know it's small, but not for people with bad internet) and it downloaded around 740 like I said. Just tried to relaunch it to see what the total amount is uncompressed and such, and it appears to have gotten stuck "Reconfiguring new content" (after finishing the download). Oh well, quite odd nonetheless. Just another of Steam's occasional odd quirks. Oh well, looks like I'm going to have to force quit it since it's been reconfiguring for a few minutes now.

@TheSisko alright, that makes sense about the 16MB being a bug, it did seem odd when it claimed it merely had to convert files to a more usable type, and then downloaded so much anyway.

If you can't uninstall it because it's a) NOT on your games list and b) NOT in your control panel, how do you know it's even there? Is there a folder in your steamapps? If so, delete it.

It's not a steamworks game. The retail version won't have any DRM, while the digital version will have an one time online activation (rumoured to use Tages, but no confirmation on this).

It doesn't make any sense for the retail version to not use DRM and for the digital version to use DRM, but what to expect from Ubisoft...

Look on your steam library for the demo. Yesterday it auto add to it. I was trying to download the demo but i couldn't. Start the game from your library if it's there (today mine's gone)

About amazon, I don't live in UK, I live in Spain. I will get a free delivery by doing an order over 25. I will buy Deus Ex for 5.75, Rayman Origins for 15.75 among other things.

You seem to not understand what I said. If it's NOT in your Steam list, and it's NOT in your registry (thus not showing a folder), then it's uninstalled.

Btw, I just cancelled my order of Rayman Origins, let me see some feedback of the game first. I like but not love the demo. It's nice, good music, funny...good. But paying 6€ for Deus Ex and 15€ for a game I didn't "try, apart from the demo" don't feel right. Let me see the game implementation with Steamworks, bugs etc...And may be a sale.

I will be busy with Diablo 3 beta and Deus Ex anyway.

The game was not in my steam list nor I could find it listed in my control panel (didn't check the registry), but was installed in my computer, because the folder was in steamapps/common, and I was able to run the game through the .exe file.

Only I wasn't able to properly uninstall it.

Anyway maybe I haven't been clear enough, my complaint wasn't referred at all to the fact that Valve forces demos on you, but just to the fact that I couldn't uninstall the game, since I WANTED to try it...That's why I've downloaded the demo. ;)
