I suppose it's a false positive, but AVG just said it detected some trojan called BackDoor.Hupigon5.CBRC within the dustforce.exe

VirusTotal has one detection with ByteHero: Trojan.Malware.Win32.xPack.i

I deleted the .exe and downloaded it freshly from steam but it's still showing the same message.

Hey there,

try scanning the file on here:

http://virusscan.jotti.org/en-gb

It basically scans a single file using a dozen or 2 different antivirus programs and give you the result for all of them, usually if its a false positive it will only show up as a virus on some of them.

Either way I'm pretty sure its either a false positive or it is infected by some other virus in some crazy way.

If downloading a fresh version from Steam shows a virus, it's a false positive.

Steam doesn't distribute viruses yet, might want to contact Gabe to make this dream come true though.

Exactly what VirusTotal does as well ;)

I myself am not concerned, but there might be users that would panic as soon as their AntiVirus tool pops up. Just wanted to let people know that it might happen :)

You should report the false positive to the AVG people (http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=395) if you haven't already done so.

AVG thinks pretty much everything is a virus, so you are safe, it's a false positive
